Bulking on KETO?!!

    Anyone tried this?

    I know Dave Palumbo reckons its possible by having simple carbs pre and post workout, but wondered if anyone has actually tried it?

    Surely by definition, including simple carbs would not be a KETO diet?

    Have to say that being on a keto diet and trying to bulk seem a bit strange.

    Keto no, low carb yeah.


    smash the carbs in Post workout for a couple of meals and keep it pro/fat the rest of the time.


    Id rather bulk on low fat, high carb and pro thought tbh. Save the low carbing for cutting.

    Personally i would bulk or cut mate. Otherwise you will just be treading water.

    The Mrs is DESPERATE to lose weight, but she can't seem to low carb - shes very much all or nothing, so toying with having her try keto and maybe join her for some support, but as I am trying to add size, keto isn't any good. I remember clearly Palumbo saying it IS possible, but I agree with you guys, doesn't seem to make sense... Thought I'd ask!!

    Dave P says you want carbs in order to grow.
    I am far from fat phobic but in order to eat enough calories from fat and protein to grow you will open your self up to possible health issues.

    Optimal growth won't happen on traditional keto, but some kind of cycling to keep gains lean is a viable option. This could include a 5 day no carb, and 2 day carb binge.
