Bought Pre Prepped Meals

Does anyone use them? There seems to be more a selection these days. Even the ones from muscle food look decent.

Looked at it before, but the sites I looked at seemed a bit expensive. Maybe worth putting a smallish order in and see how you get on.

I think you can do meals yourself for cheaper with not too much time required tbh.
If you are really pushed for time or can happily afford spending prob twice what you need to on food then fair do.
maybe just for a few meals here and there, or if a good offer is on perhaps...

Or just go to hot deli counter in supermarket, chicken and rice will be less than a prepped meal.
Imo it's a novelty and a convenience, the price charged for which is too high for me.

I agree with this. I’ve said before 1/2 chicken from marks they do 3 for 7£ and then bag of micro rice from lidl is 49p. Works out about £1.80-2 per chicken rice meal.
At the minute I’m using costco 99% beef frozen burgers. Each weighs 175gr and work out about 75p each. I have 1 and 1/2 per meal with micro rice and few sprigs of asparagus. Microwave it at work costs about £1.40 for the meal

Tried the muscle food ones, the chicken and blackbean was okay so was the chilli. 2 for 1 £1,80 a pot.

Protein was 38g though, I like 50g +TBH

I had the MF ones and it was a fucking disaster lol.
they got delivered late and had defrosted so weren't really fit to eat as I didnt know how long they'd be defrosted etc...
so couldn't refreeze and had a dozen or so meals to eat up immediately more or less...

what did make me wonder...
didnt seem like much meat in them to meet the protein content of the meals I didnt think

5kg of quality chick breast costs me £20, rice is cheap as it gets if you cook yourself, supermarket brand micro rice 60p a bag and that's 2 servings.
1kg frozen veg £1
Frank's sauce / flying goose sauce / soy sauce couple of quid and that'll will give you plenty of good meals for peanuts, for during day.
steak / chilli /salmon potatoes for tea , oats and whey and some cereal and your covered with quality snap for the week for the cost of 3 take aways.

Prepped meals are for retards. £3-4 for something that costs under 50p to make yourself, times 3-6 times a day, 7 days a week. Probably taste like school dinners too.

Or for people who have the cash and can’t be fucked prepping the odd meal themselves.
What meal can you pull together for 50p? FFS! Something off the Leedalifter menu.

200g chicken thigh = 40p, 100g white rice = 10p, throw on some random seasoning and you've got basically the same thing as one of those crappy "meals".

Veg? You get random seasoning for free?

The quality of some the pre prepped food has dramatically improved over the years. And just to clarify, I’m not talking about a frozen chicken tikka masala meal from Tesco.

for example.

anyway the initial question was has anyone used them or can recommend them, not how can I prep chicken & rice for the cheapest possible.

that's the ones I had.
they are ok, not bad for the money but nothing special at all mate.
my order was fucjed up by courier but I did try em.
flavour wise all very samey, not as different as they should be.
and as I mentioned above the chicken content was quite low I thought, cant recall macros but I know when I cook similar amount of chick it looks a lot more in a tub.
also I didnt think it was particularly good quality meat. more like what's in a cheap ready meal. ( which I guess it is )

try em, few quid, a weeks work of meals for work sorted nothing ventured, nothing gained...

if they suit your needs and your pocket then thats a win.
