why are they calling them “extremists” and “far right groups”

If they plan on making sure no more statues and war memorials get messed with and that’s all they want I think they deserve a pat on the back

obviously the BLM lot will be loving it, they get the perfect opportunity to play the victims again

It isn't that.

It is what I said in my first post. The initial idea is novel, like BLM their idea of peaceful protesting is good, there are people in groups who are there to insight violence, though.

If anyone believes for one second Tommy Robinson is there to protect monuments and not stir shit then they must be crazy.

Weird to see Tommy involved when it isn't an opportunity to bash asians, not seen him out to bash blacks before.

A statue of Winston Churchill and the Cenotaph in central London have been boarded up ahead of planned protests.

Monuments were targeted during last week's anti-racism protests sparked by the death of George Floyd in the USA.

A Black Lives Matter protest planned for Saturday in Hyde Park has been brought forward to Friday, over fears of clashes with far-right groups.

I disagree tbh

I think a lot of people are infuriated watching people rip up statues and fuck up war memorials whilst the police are too scared to step in. Tommy and the boys have stood by and watched with disgust and have now decided to step in free of charge

I think that’s what’s going on because that’s exactly how I feel. I think it’s disgraceful that the police are too worried about racism to step in when people are breaking the law and vandalising war memorials. Countless people died for this country and they should be honoured correctly

There is no denying though, the guys a bellend and whether he means to or not, he'll have some likely racist followers join him in the defence which will likely lead to conflict.

The police should just stand round each statue and fuck up anyone who goes near it. Or at least tell them off ffs

Honesty mate. If Tommy and the boys are involved it’s just a reason for them to bash someone.

For once it ain’t a Muslim bashing contest.

The police at the end of the day should be doing their job.

Cannot on one side be claiming they shouldn’t be causing criminal damage then approve of vigilante protection on the other.

But I hold the people who fought for this country in extremely high regard, what those people went through is unthinkable to people like us from this generation, and they deserve ever lasting respect, from everyone, Black or white

So when the police stand idly by whilst people desecrate memorials to dead soldiers and tear down statues of meaningful parts of our history that’s no good at all imo, so if it takes Tommy and a few “hooligans” to step up and make a BLM protestor think twice before getting out his spray can so be it

A necessary evil if the authorities havent got the back bone to step in

If the Police did their job and/or the phaggot BLM shitbags didn't desecrate the memorials, then there would be no need for anybody to protect the statues/monuments.

That is the thing, though isn't it. 99% of people agree it is wrong, of course, it is. We all hold those who fought for our freedoms in high regards. Tearing down statues and vandalism isn't the one at all.

Countering acts of criminality with a group whose basis is criminality is just further the cause. It ain't right, although your sentiment si right, there cannot be one rule for one and a different rule for others, regardless of the situation.

Again, I agree with your sentiment but it doesn't work does it.

On the other side of the scale there are people saying the exact same thing as you but in reverse.

Tommy and his band aren't just hooligans, they are the type of cunts to go ahead and damage them statues themselves to cause a movement against black lives matter or any other ethnic group for that matter.

The initial idea was to protect the monuments, which was great. Yet as soon as Tommy announced he is getting involved it has already turned into a shit show and it hasn't even happened yet.
