This subject will always be extremely emotive and divisive.
My personal opinion is that white people will never be able to fully understand racism as we haven't experienced it first hand. We can empathise to a certain degree but we haven't lived it.
BLM peaceful protesters have my absolute support. As do any civil rights movement. People have the right to stand up for what they believe in without fear of reprisal.
These people that are vandalising and desecrating war memorials aren't civil rights activists. They are vandals. Criminals taking advantage of the situation. I totally agree that the police should be stepping in and dealing with them.
I'm proud to be English. Grateful for the sacrifices that have been made. But I'm also proud to be part of a multi cultural society.
Wouldn't life be boring if we were all the same?!
