Gym Equipment

vote with your wallet I say, they can charge extra for a while but when everyone fucks them off they will struggle
That's what I'm doing.
I only wanted a few 20 plates, I've got 230 if I use a lot of change plates and my bumpers, so can wait it out. I could understand a small increase, but when they were available in May for 40 quid a 20 plate, 55 now is taking piss.

Absolute fuckers. Hope people fuck them off.

Rebel strength are a joke as well, 100% price increase on their adjustable Dumbells

I'll wait out lockdown and see if normal prices resume whether I can get the rest of my plates from them to have matching. I'd rather not have to, but for sake of matching plates I'll give them my money when they drop their prices back, but I'll never buy anything else from them. Spent c. 1750 quid with them in last 3 months so that's a kick in the bollocks for them to do that. Even Strengthshop haven't price hiked. I get that they can and people will pay, but when you're supposedly one of the largest gym kit suppliers in UK there is really no need. Especially if you kept prices normal for the stricter parts of lockdown.

people will pay to a point.
when the used market starts to pick up and it will they will struggle to maintain high prices on plates, weight is weight.

not be long now....
25th gyms open
folks be selling off there lockdown home gym purchases only to find their 2k investment is only actually work £600.

Why do u think that?

I think a lot of people won’t bother going back. Me included

not all of course
but a lot will have bought purely as a get by, prices have been ridiculous.
and many who wont be going back will once the option is there again.

I don't think there is going to be a sudden influx of quality kit. Some of the shit maybe.

I think people will hold onto it as a back up in case gyms close again or just continue to train at home.

I think winter time may see more of it being sold as people realise they can't we live in the UK so can't train in the garden and it's too cold in their garage or shed

that's more accurate tbf,
wont be immediate, but the used market will be good in a few months.

I think you're right, but it won't be right away. People will like the convenience/fear of 2nd wave. People who don't have their kit inside will sell soonest as they'll get sick of training @huntingground style in their garden.
I'm glad it will bring in an end to the 2nd hand market being more expensive than new. Fitness companies will drop their prices back a bit. Hopefully people will remember the companies that exploited lockdown and avoid.
