Boxing Thread

I only watched the Chisora fight, he blew Rivas away didn't he? Didn't realise he was with Dave Coldwell now. Well, he looked in good nick and talk is Parker next. He needs the big fights as he is 35.

Pricey boxed Allen's head off and didn't gas. Every time I see Price fight, I'm shouting at the TV, JAB JAB, and finally he did it last night. Allen quit (remember the shite he gave AJ for supposedly quitting against Ruiz), collapsed and was taken to hospital. He's OK health wise, just a bit of a moron, up until 02:30 night before fight drinking apparently. Talk is of retirement now but with his lifestyle, he needs cash so will be back. Brain damage awaits.

In the last 12 months Whyte has fought Parker, Chisora and Rivas, what a run he is on, he has massive bollocks and definitely deserves his shot at Fury or Wilder. He'd probably get beat by both.

Pacman beat Thurman on points, dropping him early and out-boxing him. Pac is 40 now, how long can he keep doing this, unbelievable!!

Yeah fair play to Whyte. Should deffo get the shot at Wilder

But he won’t win imo. I think he’d be out of there quick

Well Price shut a fair few up the other night, including the ones who claimed they could flatten him on here, ffs lol.

Price is so erratic it's weird. Huge puncher but glass jaw too, his fight with Povetkin was a right old slugfest though very entertaining he's certainly worth paying to watch.

How Allen came in as clear favourite is beyond me. Think Lucas Browne is his biggest scalp? OK. Solid worker but nothing more IMO.

As for people shitting themselves before a fight, EVERY boxer does. Watch a documentary on Netflix I think it is, called Losers, covers a range of sports but the boxer is Michael Bent I believe. Most honest boxer there ever was. Even D'Mato said there's no difference between a hero and a coward. Both are scared, its just important what the other guy does and what the other doesn't do that counts.

August is always a quiet month for boxing.

July

27: College Center Park, Arlington, Dallas, United States - Maurice Hooker v Jose Ramirez (WBC and WBO world super-lightweight titles)

August

3: Falls Park, Belfast, Northern Ireland - Michael Conlan v Vladimir Nikitin (featherweight)

17: Dort Federal Event Center, Flint, Michigan, United States - Claressa Shields v Ivana Habazin (vacant WBO women's world middleweight title)

24: Traktor Sport Palace, Chelyabinsk, Russia - Sergey Kovalev v Anthony Yarde (WBO light-heavyweight world title)

31: O2 Arena, London - Vasyl Lomachenko v Luke Campbell (WBC lightweight world title)

I'm looking forward to Krusher v Yarde and Loma v Luke though.
