It wasn’t a balanced opinion on where the extremes of left and right are correct or incorrect because that’s not what the conversation is about. It’s about covid (how a virus has become so political is another laughing matter, but it seems to be) and my point is/was that how the left are totally out of order in my opinion with how they handle people who disagree with them on this subject- and they seem to handle it with fear ( of losing jobs etc) and intimidation by ganging up.
The ‘the right are worse - they’re racist’ defence doesn’t really excuse any of that so I see no need to make a comparison.
There are as many things wrong with the extreme left ideology as the rights. But that’s for another thread not this one.
You say it yourself: it's about COVID. And that's what I'm asking you to not lose sight of.
Anybody who didn't see COVID coming clearly wasn't interested in seeing the great big writing on the wall. Humanity has had pandemics throughout history. Scientists have been warning that something like this was on the way - they were predicting it with chilling accuracy just months before in fact. Yet everybody carried on business as usual thinking it wouldn't happen. Governments made zero preparation and that's why we are where we are. Has nothing to do with lefties ganging up on other people and if people really believe that's even 1% of the problem, they are being shortsighted at best.
If you really feel aggrieved about the lefties, then I suggest you should direct that towards the government instead. They're the ones who ignored the warnings and focused instead in filling their fat pockets. They are the ones who have created a climate where police are wading into peoples' businesses and into their homes or where lefties can grass people up in the first place.
Had the government been doing the very job they assured us they were doing, there wouldn't have needed to be a lockdown in the first place.
If proper investment was put into hospitals, then we wouldn't have needed to worry about a lack of hospital beds nor would they have had to ask people to stay at home.
If proper investment was put into fighting diseases, then we would likely have an infrastructure which could isolate and control outbreaks, we wouldn't be running out of equipment and testing, and we'd have a much better understanding of how to fight new viruses.
But no, we put the investment into Trident and Brexit and other half-baked bullshit schemes and scams that the government say are essential for our way of living.
How's that way of living going now? Not very well, thanks to the government. And the more you point the finger towards anyone but them, the more they will continue to take the piss out of you.
