XR3i or XR2 early 80's

its not something you ceptic tanks will understand, its not got an 8 litre engine that produces 66hp. its more of a guilty pleasure.

My mother drives a BMW M5. I'm well aware of what it's like to go around corners. I also own a Suzuki hayabusa, which ironically has a larger motor than those cars. ☺

On a side note, I have a fascination with the 1.8, 1.9 liter common rail diesel motors that are quite common over there. It's just too bad they are high as a cat's back over here in the states. Nearly twice the price of its gasoline counterpart. I'm a huge diesel fan. The states mostly run off gasoline, we are just now starting to realize the advantages to diesel (gasoline's ugly brother).

Unless you have a non-standard engine in your Hayabusa it is a 1300cc and all the Ford porn cars RS posted are 1600cc...........Just saying...........

BMW m5 a real car.... And a hyabusa.... A real bike ;) awesome! Stuff the rusty fords and spend 5k on a low mileage 5litre v8 400bhp e39 m5 instead ;) that won't need any money spending on it instead of a rusty xr2 that will need new panels everywhere n spray n will cost 5k n end up with a 5bhp hatch back.

I consider my supercharged 4.2 litre XJR a better car than the M5, I had a choice of either. The Jag is marginally quicker has more torque and better fuel economy.

Been on the look out myself for xr2, still affordable and without any doubt going to go up in value.

370bhp and heavier than the 400bhp more nimble m5? To be fair tho the xjr is a fantastic car but unfortunately you can't compare the two fairly! I would live them both but for different reasons! The xjr is like driving a pillow and the most awesome cruiser ever! I had a xj for a month and was probably the best car Iv ever had!!! But my e39 is awesome in a different way.... Alot sportier! But not the arm chair the jag was! If I could get a manual jag I would probably get another. But then I love the way my 5 handles! Hmmmm a tough one and as said no real comparison

Dont think i will ever be a car lover, the old fords etc look shite to me.

Would love to be able to work on them in theory, i say in theory as i dont have the enthusiasm or patience to learn stuff about them. I did take a big step a few weeks back- lent some tools off a mate and did a little service on my car, oil, filters and spark plugs. Fck me what a nightmare those spark plugs were, my new ones didnt work so put my old ones back in and they didnt work  Finally got the old ones back in and GF broke down shortly after, RAC came out and turned out some twat had let water get into that hole where the spark plugs go.

As well as being banned around the house doing DIY (multiple silly mishaps :whistling: ) apparently banned from working on car without supervision as well now. Whilst i was doing the service i got a bit over confident and was going to see if i could tighten the handbrake a bit as a bit loose afterwards  Fortunately by the time id managed to get my car to start again i wasnt so confident and was sick of it!

I'm not a fan of either if I'm completely honest. I'm an american pickup kind of guy. Typical, I know.

Mine is an 04 XJR Aluminium bodied and is 400 bhp not the older 370bhp 4.0litre,
Because of the aluminium panels mine weighs 1650 kg against the M5's 1790kg so lighter too. Air suspension so handles better than the older Jag, i have owned an E39 but not the M5

Ah quality! Bet it's a right machine! What year did they start doing 400bhp model? Never new there was one! 370 is a lot but that extra 30 I bet makes all the difference! I'm checking auto trader now lmao want another xj
