The issue is, you have people like Matt Does Fitness on youtube who promotes eating like shit, does stupid challenges etc and looks ripped all year round because he is on PED's but wont disclose this as he is on a massive sponsorship by gym shark etc, so then everyone just thinks that if can be done with ease. Then you have the likes of Greg Doucette who is massive on Kcal in vs Kcal out and then people just assume you only need calories, no matter if they're from shit sources or not. Ultimately, people just don't want to do the work.
You can get lean and in shape eating fairly flexibly. You don't need a full bro diet of chicken, rice, spinach. Anything is OK in moderation, stage lean I agree with you. But for a normal person wanting to get to say 10% you can follow an 80/20 diet and easily achieve it.
So I have had another good day 2650 calories ran out of my Muller light so had some mini chedders instead. With training bench it was a good day went up to 105 x 4 and felt pretty good so thought I'll try 115 for 1 my arse came up off the bench. I'm please as it's the most I have lifted on my home bench (it's a shitty York one it's to tall not level and has a small incline. I was thinking of getting a new bench but im looking at 300 for a decent one and I can get a years membership at gym for 240 and then could have a good leg seshs aswell which are really lacking at home I have video but its saying it's too big (that's what she said)
That's bang on mate. What I would say about Greg Doucette is the whole calories in vs calories out thing is his shtick for getting people on low calorie dense foods. If you look at his actual cookbook his recipes are generally very high protein and none of the recipes will jack up insulin levels. He's adhering to the principles of a decent enough diet - he just doesn't want to drive people away by telling them they've basically got to give up all the bad shit they love eating. I can't speak too much on Matt Does Fitness as I haven't seen much of his stuff but seeing some of the crap he eats there's no way the majority of people could get away with that and be in his condition. Let's wait and see if he's still eating the same shite in 5 years time because even with great genetics and PEDs, age will catch up with him and he'll be cleaning his diet right up. By which time anyone dumb enough to be following his diet advice will also have realised they can't go caning the pizzas and doughnuts nor can they get anywhere near that condition without cocktails of PEDs.
I'd agree with all that although not so sure your average person could reach 10% on an 80/20 diet that quickly. If that's been your experience then I'd say that your genetics are at a higher tier than you think. I think the biggest factor is knowing exactly how many calories you are taking in even when being a bit loose on your diet. Most people get that part wrong and end up going most of the way towards cleaning up their diet before getting frustrated that they can't hit 10%. But yeah, considering most normal people have an abysmal diet to begin with, going on an 80/20 should leave them happy enough and if they do stick the deficit out long enough they will eventually reach 10%.
Well fuck me sideways 4lbs in a week. Maybe this should be stickied to show you can vary you diet and loose weight and not to listen to bro science bs I'm 39 with low T so have no thoughts that I will be shredded but if I get with in striking distance and have the urge to sacrifice more I know what to do.
