Overdid the high carb days initially. We both know it's hard to stop when you've a free reign on all the good stuff. This was before orals went in at 6 weeks out. Dropped orals for 2nd show so my quote still stands!!

go eat 400-600 carbs today is the instruction....sure you say

body goes bananas a few hundred grams in and you have an insatiable appetite and mow through almost double the amount given (with ease) and are starving still.........and then hungry as fuck for the next week! like an addict needing another big carb fix
 
Wednesday

Extra 100g carbs ....heaven.... went with two servings of oats and cinnamon and some Rice Chex post workout (eaten dry) with my fish

boldly did my last legs workout which was pish. Ham Curls and Leg Curls went ok - respectable....... then Leg Press....4 plates a side LOLOLOL with legs close together.... my mrs can do 9.......oh dear.....
Did some ISO ham curls after , some rope crunches and cardio.....whole body feels exhausted now.....just pure autopilot - this is one of those days where you question why you do it - I wont ever give up or quit, its not my style. Its more the enjoying training - its an outlet and fun so to go the gym and not be able to perform is - well a bit sad. However those thoughts come and go its just part of the territory.

weight came off 0.5kg overnight too with the higher carbs .........

back to low (140) carbs for the next few days with shorter workouts still then its carbs in Sunday and Monday ....almost at the finish line........

in mirror after first couple of sets looked decent and had one of those moments in prep where you think - ok - fuck - I don't look so bad - having had the "feel shit, look shit, look fat, look flat" fanfare playing on and off in your head for a few weeks.

we had this 'discussion' last night (mrs and I) that it does take the ability to be able to self critique more than most other sports yet know not to take it personally - despite the fact that it involves doing what family and friends tell you not to do your whole life i.e you are special, don't compare to others, you are unique, be yourself etc etc.. which is the total opposite when you stand on stage to be judged by others vs a line up of other people. no wonder people have or worsen self confidence issues

2nd day of low carbs today and weight 100.8kg - having started a water increase yesterday and pissed at least 4/5 times between 10 and 4am this morning......... so the most disturbed sleep to date - not the worst kip as kept falling back - but that plus some weird dreaming when I shot back into deep sleeps was fun

so we have a back/biceps short session with cardio today
quick workout Saturday with cardio
then a shorter cardio and stretch sunday

injections cease today
adex upped the other day
then its just orals all the way in....

Monday AM its get the ferry over to Macau and check in to the Venetian (which is very nice - like the vegas one) for two days ....weigh in is a doddle this time as I don't have to make a weight.......... catch up with few chaps as Adri doesn't come over until Tuesday (show day) - have dinner with few competitors and mates Monday night pre show - so should be fun. Stage wise I think I have a line up full of beasts - young Chinese star who walked the Shanghai show as a HW (and competiton there is good now) plus local guy who medalled at AM Olympia AND mate who was prepping for the Arnold Asia supers - so ill be the smallest on stage by a margin....and that's of the guys I know so far....... if I make it into final placings id be chuffed (as means a classic BB beat an open BB hahahaha)

post show will be a couple of easier days then crack on for Singapore show and the Amateur Olympia (both in my regular classic division) im only 4ish kg away right now so ill hopefully be doing some higher days of food until then (after this show)......as I want to be able to train hard not just do these cunty pump workouts for 2 months else ill shrivel and die of boredom

cheers - yeah for sure...its me being realistic (something many aren't)....not negative as ive coached people for most of my life so I understand how peoples grey matter works. I have zero expectations - so anything above more stage time, more posing and trying some different things this time without worry about weight or spilling a little or whatever is a bonus. This is as close as I can get to being on stage at Olympia to practice more without doing it on the actual stage in Oct. WIll be new faces, few judges of course wholl be at Olympia (which never hurts) and a good yardstick at 8 weeks out of the big show.

I will however be coming down to take you out like a MOFO at the Arnold Aus next year though LOLOLOLOL - just kidding mate - should be down there - and good to see Dennis Wolf doing it to

Macau is ok, its worth a visit if here but its NOT vegas. Its much more for the Chinese gambler - though its now more family friendly having taken some Vegas ideas... Lots more sports on their now (boxing and MMA) and more new restaurants. If in HK its crazy to not go as its 35mins on the Ferry (if you have the time) and a few good deals to be had - if you go higher season (its not now) its lumpy - 300 quid a night for a top hotel (venetian, mandarin oriental, banyan, four seasons etc) on the strips. Low season comes down if you booked in advance to maybe 50% of that - still for a day or two its ok.....for a BB show to be at the Venetian its fucking cool....nice little arena and everything to hand (if you were alone and had a sex drive you could get up to all sorts of mischief as there are tons of Russian ladies working there as 'dancers or 'artistes' cough cough)

so been a little quiet as had comp

didn't make the Top 6 - which isn't a surprise considering it was open - did manage to finish 7th out of 9 (they score up to the top 15th) - it ws 90kg and over...... winner and 2nd place were 110kg ish......I weighed in almost bang on 100kg as did some of the others - exept they were all (bar 2nd place) Asian - so short stocky guys with huge legs - blocks..... one of the 7 judges had me in 5th and another in 6th at prejudge so even to have got that is an achiement (based on conditioning - was told)

Positives of the show were ALL scoring was immediately piped up to two huge screens for the audience to see which was BRILLIANT. so for finals you saw how some placed where they did (sometimes was just having a better average rather than being like clear 2nd place from all) which is something I would love to see in more shows - so literally you saw the judge number and how he or she scored it, then the next one, etc etc . Also my mate came 2nd , and a training partner won the MW and the overall - which was well deserved as he is a beast.

Personal Positives
Had a lot more food this time, due to no worry about the scales.
For Olympia (back to Classic) I now have a really good feel for where I can be weight wise and try come in top of my weight class on the new improved limit.
I am now in very decent nick for 8.5 weeks out of my 'big' show
Tried a far more aggressive protocol and know what I can 'get away with' ..... having been a bit flat before......
Mentally good also as next time out ill be with guys my size, and my height.....

none really - would have been great to get a Top 6 as I am a competitor but it was never really on the cards - id be needing 10kg of muscle to be competitive at least.....
Pro Tan oil just ran - shite - back to my old protocol of a bit of a mist sprayed over from a little way back
THE worlds hottest stage lights - low stage and quite shallow (though wide) meant for me and the other tall guy we weren't far away from getting burned!
Still could pose better - but that's another reason I did this - as posing at home is different to being elbow to elbow with people and doing it under 'stage' conditions (and your physical state too)
Couple of homos literally lurking in the mens toilets - not very nice

AND on top had a couple of nice few days in a huge hotel - my room was massive - had couple of lovely steaks too, caught up with some people and had a few really nice comments , just some recognition from peers is always good especially guys who are way way better than I am. And also they banned smoking through all casinos there....last time it just stank...

so what next - well orals stopped, run adex half dose for a week and get fluid and electrolyte balance back..
Gear- small break from the pre contest stuff - as im lean and close to stage ready - test and primo for a few weeks - no tren or mast - then will stick back in

Mrs competes in 5 weeks, I have the option to in 6, then its AM Olympia.

Training wise: full rest day today....then back to gym tomorrow

Diet - no shite - had steak meal night before (20oz NY Strip with a boulder sized jacket spud and fries) which was delicious and then in between Pre Judge and Finals plan was to have steak and Asparagus - so just did the same thing and had lunch with Adri at the same place as night before (delicious) - then last night had beef and rice again - and pre bed Protein Shake with shite loads of frozen berries and a spoon of PB......delicious as I was parched.........

today back on week before (no deplete or carb up diet) of 2800 cals - will prob be able to creep these up slow or have a reefed depending on how I go..... will add carbs back in around workout only.........see how we go........
 
total rest last night as was shattered - no treats no cheats just pre contest week (pre carb up etc) diet of 2800 cals....bit peckish but im in good nick now so its always easier. Couple of small temptations but that's usual but just cracking on....could sleep tons more though! just feel tired as hell

100.2 on waking.......crazy as almost same as my weigh in weight........yet eat lots more and drunk loads.......

back in the gym tonight........ 8 weeks to get in the best nick ever
 
Cheers, waiting for them. mrs cameraphone ones were shite as the lights were so fucking bright and the official photographers have only put up the overalls so far... prob be a few days as its always the same, overalls first then the winners , then the classes (or if they know you) individual ones

show totally overshadowed by a young Mens Physique guy who died. less than 24hrs after getting a medal he slipped at home on his balcony (mates taking pictures off him) railings didn't hold him and feel a few floors down to land flat on his face... DOA......... early twenties.......... very sad indeed

annoyingly they have putted raised platforms inside all the racks now.... great for squatting.....but shit as they extend about a metre out and so to use the outside hooks of a rack to power press is a no no (as the weights on the bar will now hit the ceiling or lights (or both). setting up and incline press inside is also now a true pain in the ass as well...... they are determined to make the gym unusable for me!

650mg Test in ......anti Es being run also and some GH but that's it for now ........Primo will go in at weekend......
no pre workout orals or anything for a bit too.....

Mrs has a photoshoot tomorrow which means up early (zero fun) then taking her out for a nice lunch at posh jap/sushi place - she has just over 5 weeks until Korea Pro....... so just got that all sorted out - if it all kicks off we will pull it (as Seoul is going to be fucked if anything happens as its in N Korean artillery range) but cant live our life in a cave...so flights done, and hotel all sorted courtesty of promoter....... looks a top end place too......

will do a back and biceps type workout tonight and then enjoy a decent kip again.

keep stims low too just for a bit.....2 coffees a day max and a Diet Coke...

so we got hit with three Typhoons over the past 3 weekends - one was whats know as a super typhoon (like a super hurricane) which shut the airport, killed a few people, flooding etc. just was havoc...... everything shuts down, then reopened, got cleaned then got whacked again - so couldn't do much

also post show got ill, felt rough thought was maybe food poisoning.... had like a 12 egg omlette pre bed, woke up feeling a bit sick and shites...then had non stop shites for 2/3 days dropped down 4kg, felt like crap...

promised mrs a nice lunch - Zuma (same as London)..... felt bad but went along...barely touched the food.... had a few bits..... then had to dive into one of the cubicles were I spewed (a momumental amount) prob 1cm deep on the floor...all over my shoes and trousers - all over the toilet and wall - impressive actually...

took me a few days to get over that......

all ok now and basically just got my bodyweight back up to 100kg or so.....

training is groundhog day as keeping lean isn't fun.......... and got 7 weeks just over until Olympia

will start to update again just had other stuff on (work, training etc) - on top of this - just been hitting gym and cardio and that's it

nada fancy gear wise just some test and primo - but now anavar just started again..........goal to be bang on the limit for classic.......this will also most likely be my last classic (IFBB) show as its too much of a struggle to fight to stay at this weight.... I mean im on days were my carbs are higher like 300g almost and im a walking zombie.
So focused soley on Olympia for now but next year onwards is time off... good 9 months at least before I consider doing a show again.....and solidify some extra weight.... I know ill be 110kg easy in next to no time .......but adding then cutting down again so quickly is a little wasteful... plus also ive been in low energy mode for ages now.....and still 7 weeks more.... its not fair (despite her understanding completely) on the mrs - its just been fortunate we are prepping the same time...........

photos from show were limited and annoyingly crap........as I wasn't in top 6 (where 98% of the pics seem to have been taken) I have just a handful.and of poor quality......nada spectacular at all

will be heading to Seoul (for the AGP Pro Show- fun fun fun) in just over two weeks - then from there we are going to Prague for 5 days for the EVLS Pro Show (mrs competing back to back weekends) ....not ideal but then ill stick to diet and my training right now on these cals is pretty wank so I can do it anywhere..... we arrive back with 3 weeks still to go so I have time and im in fairly decent nick now, just flat as a fucking pancake .......have the usual 5mins of looking decent in the gym after a high carb day but I reckon I need at least 48hrs or so of decent carbs to fill..........

anyway ill get back on this journal.

Diet is cycling roughly 150g carbs days with 280 ish carb days at the moment....

pre contest stuff all starts in a week (usual bits)

haven't bothered with AI since show - not that its been any real cruise but just a bit of a pull back of everything for as close to a few weeks break as poss......

so been doing a MED, LOW carb rotation - goroundhog day..... a higher carb day on Saturday - my rest day as it is a bit relaxing and more normal and helps me ahead of sunday legs

workouts really nothing to get excited about...weights varying depending on which days so almost pointless to write up else its creating negatives........on a low day just walking around is a hassle, one medium day im a bit better, on the second med day usually my gym performance is a bit better, then back to square one. As Im rotating things this just varies day by day..

weight hovers between 100kg and 98.8ish depending on day..... very lean , vascular- just knackered.....

6 weeks tomorrow until Olympia - first time where I have actually though to myself fuck this as my body just feels exhausted......... seems a long way off haha. Still we go off to Korea in 9 days time for the Asian Grand prix/Korea Pro which will be cool. Get to see Flex Lewis live (week after Olympia) something which im pretty excited about.

then Prague after so will take my mind of the boring stuff.......... just trying to make the most of workouts where poss....will be ok here and korea, Prague looks like it wont be so great as city centre gyms are probably limited (no heavy stuff) ......... will be hotel gym and a venture to one place which looks a bit far to be a doable one as we have to travel to the venue (30mins outside the centre) - didn't fancy staying out in the sticks near the Expo hall - and also family are popping over which will be cool - so want to try kill as many birds in one go

keeping things as is for now....prob start the pre contest shizzle this week.........once we see where I am.
