Veg is veg is veg really, some stuff I’m able to tolerate ok, onions, potatoes, but anything leafy or with skins (peppers, tomatoes etc) is ok in moderation but too much or too often and the toilet becomes a war zone

True Keto is actually low carb AND low protein and high fat. 90% fats if memory serves.
I do low carb probably less than 100 per day. At my age it keeps me leaner. I agree though I still have some carbs but mainly fruit and maybe some oats. Sweet pots sit on my stomach well. Haven't eaten bread for ages but had to get a sandwich the other day. Sat in my stomach like a bowling ball for hours

Yeah classic keto is low protein (4g of fat for 1g of combined protein and carbs - so 9kcals from fat to each 1kcal of anything else, or ninety percent energy from fat), but classic keto was only ever intended as a therapeutic diet specifically for intractable epileptics and never recommended either as a health promoting diet, nor one for the general population.

I'd never recommend that for anyone other than an epileptic looking for seizure control. The bodybuilding and less fat dominant popular versions are a better choice if going to go keto at all.
