The launch has been excellent; so much interest from a wide range of people across Europe.

At the moment, we're on-line only.

@James Collier I know the macro breakdown is based on government numbers, what are your feelings on the breakdown for people who weight train? Do you believe more protein is needed?

    Hi Tommy

People who weight train with a view to gaining size (ie not cutting) will need more than the 2000kcal per day amounts and this will provide more protein.

Although Huel isn't 'high protein' compared to the sort of amounts bodybuilders are told to ingest, it is still very high protein.

    125g x 5 a day would bring approx

    2500 cals

    187.50g pro
    250g carbs
    81.25g fats.

Easy enough protein, add in a pwo whey and between 225-250g depending in how big the scoops are you throw in.

Or the standard 2000 cals template with pwo shake and pwo meal if you wanted more protein, easily bump cals to 3000/3500 if needed.

Not sure if its commendable or a concern that you don't appear to want to hype it up and push the product in the sports supp sector. Most nowadays create as much hype as poss, sell lorry loads and worry about the fall out whilst counting piles of pound notes.

    What's the long term strategy/vision?

Surely that's because their target market isn't the sports supplement sector. Go on the website and it is very much clear that it is marketed towards an average Joe who wants convenience.

Really good question, Daz. To get Huel out there, we don't want non-sports folk to be put off and think it's not for them by being too sporty. In particular with my position in the fitnes industry it would be easy for people to think it's a bodybuilding/fitness product only. We'll push it gently in this side, whilst pushing it to the busy working people.

Long term - continued growth, a couple of new product lines and see where it takes us

At the moment only the unflavoured/unsweetened and the vanilla. We're trying to keep things simple.

We have the Natural Flavour & Sweetener Pouches so people can flavour their own

Its the future. People don't want, or rather think that they're to busy to eat so the best think to do is have something like this. Until now however they've been doing it with protein shakes and thinking that's fine. Now though they can have a Huel and actually get the nourishment they need. It wont b that long before dinner time will consist of a few pills
    Meat replacement pill
    Veggie Replacement pill
    Carb Source Replacement pill

    Desert pill

    Cheese & Biscuits pill lol
