1st time in years, but really enjoyed it, nothing special but will improve, and it was an extra cardio session, next time I'll remember my gum shield though.

This one went on for another minute but it got cut off.

Good stuff. Take it you used to box (judging by footwork and way you lead with your jab)? I should really do a bit of this for the extra cardio but can never be bothered these days.

Never fought, but done boxing and mauy Thai training before, it was a really good workout, much better than bag work.

One thing that surprised me was that even though I was the heaviest I was also the fittest. I could have done 5 minute rounds no problem.

Think people prob underestimate the fitness that goes into strongman though.... People just see big fat bastards lifting heavy things up but all that muscle needs powering and supplying with oxygen on the circuit based events, fitness soon picks up. It's fucking hard graft...

    Transfers over no doubt.

I tell you what though, my brother can take some digs, watch the middle video at about 1 minute in, one punch even makes his head bounce off the glass, but it didn't even phase him.

Always wanted to but never had the time, and weight training was always more important, looking back I wish I would have took it further.

    Good stuff buddy.

I've returned to boxing also. Do more boxing than lifting now.

Hardest thing I've found is getting that fitness back.

Can't do the the things I want to just yet but it's coming back slowly

I hate bag work, never got on with it, much prefer focus pads, so you can get some natural movement around.
It is very tempting to make boxing my main goal.

Yeah I know what you mean, temptation is to stand and load up rather than move around.

Hoping to meet up with my old coach for some focus mitts.

I'm boxing 3 times a week, only lift twice a week now.

Too old for amateur fights now though, but hoping to get some sparring partners soon
