Bodybuilding vs Boxing - Which is Harder?

This is a wind up thread, I will see how it progresses, if turns into trash talk going to close it!!

Sort of, just trying to get a mate to post as you well know. But tbh, its quite interesting what peoples views are on different sports vs bodybuilding.

@dutchscott, how intense/strict is basketball training?

Boxing is so much harder!

At pro level
Been a coach to both and boxers do gym work
And harder cv
And physical work
And skill work
And diet
And get Hurt
And condition

It's a different genre but the facets also require u to out class or skill another building is stood posing and subjective
Bb is also not a sport is it!

This is very true.

Play tennis and the agression/power is directed against the ball - go out for a competative game with the best in the world and you're not going to get hurt.

However with a combat sport the agression/power is directedt the oponent 'mano mano' - go out against the best in the world and you are going to get hurt.

The psychology of entering a situation where you may get hurt, some times seriously is very interesting.

Arnt fighters taught by trainers to have no fear of this though. A bit like guys in the forces are for combat?

If you go into a fight with fear of any kind, you going to be done over easy id imagine.

Well in my limited experience and if this is a serious question I will share with you what I know (Which aint a lot).

In training and pre deployment we trained to operate in a hostile environment, that basically means to follow orders, work as a thinking soldier and be part of an effective troop. (You are not taught directly to deal with fear but you do develop confidence and this helps - you are also told that you are the 'best') There is also a high drive to do things for your mates.

As a competative judo player fear was never discussed - you just dealt with your deamons on the day - which could be anything from spewing up in the bogs to just being quiet. I believe now that sports psychology is used far more.

PHMG everyone feels fear, its a natural emotion, just the same as love and hate. Its how you deal with that fear that counts. It really is a case of stepping up to the mark and doing what needs to be done.

I'm a softee at heart so never had the mindset that is required to excell at top level judo - I can (or rather could) switch on agression, but I am too placid by nature and I am more inclined to smile than snarl.

I've boxed at amateur level.

It's a very very tough sport.

Just to get youself up to a level where you're fit enough to last a few rounds is hard.

Its also very tough mentally. Those sparring days when you get beaten up in the first round and have to suck it up, put it out of your mind and go in for round 2.

That sport will test you physically and emotionally.

Anyone who says its easy getting hit in the face have never been hit by someone who knows how to punch correctly with speed, power and accuracy.

No one can quantify how "hard" an activity is to another human being and thus this thread is pointless and all opinions are wrong besides mine.:)

I may find boxing far harder than bodybuilding or I may find the opposite to be true.
How hard I find either activity can never be experienced by you or any one else because there is simply no way of comparing individual experience.

I know how a dairy milk tastes to ME but I have no idea what feelings/tastes/sensations YOU get when you eat a dairy milk.

I've always wanted to meet another solipsist :)

You can't really train a fighter to have no fear, its either in them or its not.

Tyson had nearly all his fights won before the first bell had even gone, gearing yourself up for a crack at him in the gym is one thing, being across the ring on show night whilst he paces up and fcuking down is another.

That's not true. Some things are intrinsically harder than others. We may be more gifted at one pursuit than another, but it does not negate the fact. For example Climbing Mount Everest is much harder than running a marathon.

Boxing at any decent level is harder than bodybuilding.

Fear is the greatest weapon you can have!

Stops you getting hit.

In your mind mate, not mine which was my whole point:)

Also running a marathon is as hard as you make it.
Many people have pushed so hard during a marathon that they have died.
If you die during an activity obviously it had a level of hardness relative to your body of 100%.

and being as this is a pointless thread by powermouse i'll take the liberty of going off at a tnegent here to on the point con brought up.

as he says he knows what for example dairy milk tastes like to him but not to everyone else,i was born apparently totally colourblind (because the ginger thing wasnt enough apparently so lack of fashion sense combined with inablity to determine colour was stapled on too),now how do we really know if it isnt all you other mofo's that arent seeing the world correctly and MY technicolour world of wonderment is actually the true version of what going on?

Lets keep it on topic please...

Ive often wondered that, I mean I see red a certain way, how do I know every other cvnt sees it the same. Maybe they don't and thats why some folks like some colours and others don't.

And how some folks like getting sucked off by guys, and some like getting sucked off by birds

One of my eyes sees colour differently to the other. One is more vivid and the other makes the colour slightly pastelly.

How do i know which one is correct
