I'm always struggling for ideas of what to take to work for my pack up, getting the right balance of carbs and protein. My job is probably 60% physical and 40% desk-based. I eat a main meal at tea time (or 'dinner' for the southerners on here) at home and breakfast consists usually of porridge but need some kind of snack for my tea breaks because if I starve myself or 'fast' then I get light-headed and have no energy. I do not eat crap such as quick-fix microwave burgers, crisps, sweets or drink cans of Monster. I usually have something like chicken or tuna wraps but although these have the protein-filling, the wrap itself is fundamentally compressed bread and very fattening, even the wholemeal version. Pot Noodles and the like are full of salt, as is soup and I don't have the time to cook anything elaborate. I drink either espresso or green tea. What do you guys take to work for your pack-up, those who don't eat out for their tea/lunch breaks?
Why dont you have time to prep food? Cook a load of chicken in bulk Take micro rice and micro veg to work Job done
I actually think bread gets a bad name. I was of the thought bread is bad as its processed, but in reality it has more micro nutrients than rice, it digests well, is convenient and tbh is a nice change from rice or pasta.
So I take it your not really in to the bodybuilding lifestyle anymore? Sounds like u eat like a normal person?
how it’s bread fattening. A wrap is fine mate. I use Pitts breads. Crumpets and bagels and doesn’t fatten me, over doing the calories does that not havin a wrap
Agree Bread is absolutely fine The only way it will make you fat is if you eat too much of it obviously And I think that's where people have the problem It's so convenient and easy to over eat
It really doesn’t sound like you have your diet in order. Post up a days eating for us to see I bet you’ll get some ideas too if you search any of the threads with similar questions. easy food Protein and oats Steak and baked potato Chicken in pitta Chicken or any meat with rice (homemade or the micro rice) Tougher cuts of meat in a home made soup or stew Any protein home made curry and rice Home made burgers in bagels or buns or Pita tons of options that are easy to do if you make a few meals or few days meals together
Where has this idea that 400 calories of bread is more fattening than 400 calories of rice come from? Its 400 calories either way. Glycemic index and insulin spikes do not affect fat gain or loss in any normal human. If youve managed to perma bulk to obese levels of bodyfat or youve doped up on GH for too long and fucked your insulin sensitivity, then get off the growth and diet your BF down and even on a diet of super high GI food, your markers will return to normal.
Everyone has time to prep food if they’re honest with themselves You cook dinner when home right? Well make more of it and pot it up for the next few days When I’m on the ball, I make big batches of homemade curries, chillis, bolognaises etc.. As pooley said above, take a micro rice with you, I personally like the ones in plastic trays that you can split in two, VeeTee I think they’re called It doesn’t have to be bland and boring
Lol thats some precision driving skills tbf I don’t drive wagons anymore, had a change a few weeks back
