    JB’s 2019 Year of Potential PB’s

    New Year hopefully new start……………..

    Last few years just sort of messed about with training but still kept lifts reasonable but this year and hopefully stay injury free I want to smash my PB’s of previous years which are…..

    Squat 227.5kg - June 2014
    Bench 3 x 150kg – June 2015
    Deadlift 250kg (BB) – Sept 2015

    Other noticeable lifts

    Axle Deadlift 260kg
    Log press 100kg
    Front squat 155kg
    SSB Squat 200kg
    Cambered Squat 200kg

    The last few months of 2018 I managed a 240kg DL and 2 x 200kg SSB Squat so hopefully can gain on them quite a bit this year bench has been poor but can’t say I’ve pressed regular enough this year either.

    Obvs got a few different squat bars and rack at home not really got room to DL or Bench so squats will be done at home the rest in the gym.

    Work locations don’t help matters either but I should be home till early March then away till end of June then home the rest of the year so longs I’m keeping something up while I’m away I should be good to hit all PBs before end of the year.

    Oh need to clean diet up as well lmao as rolling around 17st give a take………

    Oh a new year’s resolution will be to do at least 10mins CV after every gym session.

    Not much going on in here just yet been under the weather last few days felt ok myself but bad cough & chest but head etc was fine.

    Most probs leave the gym till I’m 100% not back at work till next Monday anyways.

    Planned on the gym tonight but ended up in the Toby carvery straight after work and then a X large plate later i’m a wreck

    So went out for a walk as needed some milk for the boys did 1.9 mile in 31mins.

    Give blood tomorrow evening so reckon Wednesday now for the gym.

    Few front squats tonight in garage still feeling a bit shitty still got a mad cough and fucking knackered as well so just did what I did.

    Front squats
    5 x bar
    5 x 40kg
    5 x 50kg
    5 x 60kg
    5 x 80kg
    2 x 90kg wrong position so re-racked
    5 x 90kg
    3 x 110kg

    Few sets of EZ curls +25kg

    That’s it, got works medical in the morning as well

    Matrix Supine bench press (weight a side)
    12 x 19.5kg
    12 x 29.5kg
    12 x 39.5kg
    12 x 49.5kg

    Matrix incline bench press (weight a side)
    8 x 24.5kg
    8 x 34.5kg
    8 x 44.5kg
    8 x 54.5kg

    Matrix pull down (weight a side)

    V bar Tricep pushdown

    10 x 50kg

    10 min treadmill walk.

    Back is a little twingy fuck knows what’s going on might need a massage.

    Been asked to go to kent for 2wks week on Monday don’t mind really as quiet time of year so its extra cash and hopefully meet up with some of the PL boys competing at Folkestone

    That’s enough for today still feeling a bit rough.

    Safety squats in garage this afternoon

    8 x 40kg
    8 x 60kg
    8 x 80kg
    8 x 100kg
    3 x 120kg
    8 x 140kg Rep PB
    5 x 160kg equal PB

    Today I just picked a few numbers to hit as still coughing a lung up and absolutely gassed after every set so body still not 100%

    So did 7x140kg & 5x160kg before so wanted to hit them hit the 140kg but too fucked for 160kg it’s there on a good day no issues I reckon.

    140kg


    160kg


    Ez curls +25kg
    8,8,8,8

    Oh yeah blood pressure at medical other day was 120/70

    Off for a pub meal now and a few pints

    Had to have a little procedure on my tongue today so mouth is sore as fuck tonight as got a few stitches etc so will do something tomorrow.

    Just a little play with the cambered bar tonight in garage as legs are still a little stiff and still coughing a lung up.

    Nice and easy PB’s in every set In reps i appreciate only small weights though.

    Bathroom is getting refurbed so needed shower so just nipped to gym quick pump then shower

    Feel a little hungover as well only had about 4-5 moretti pints and a small strong bottle of beer before bed

    Incline BB press
    8 x 50kg x 3 sets
    8 x 80kg x 3 sets

    Last sets were hard work think this cold is still hanging in there.

    Smith front press (weight only)
    8 x 20kg
    8 x 30kg
    8 x 40kg x 2 sets

    Back extension
    One long set

    Take lads to swimming then pub for about 11ish

    Off to Kent on Monday for 12 days will hit the gym most weekday nights.

    Travelled to Kent today 330 miles

    Paid for a week at local gym tonight and went and just did

    DB curls
    Leg raises
    Rope pushdowns
    Calf raises
    Hamstring curls

    In that order goner just movements rather than heavy weights going to do some shoulders tomorrow some log work etc.

    Weighed in on the big scales as well fully clothed but trainers off and pockets emptied.

    Left it there real pleased with that session not had a play with a log for years.

    Gym is a funny set up as closes at 8pm but if you have a key you can stay but if not you have to leave so me tonight I trained with a lad who had a key so thought it would be ok to stay behind I got kicked out as I haven’t got a key wonder if they pay more to have a key.
