    Basically just going to log any gym workouts as I find it easier to do on here than anywhere else.

    Old lifts
    Squat - 227.5kg
    DL - 260kg
    Bench - 3 x 150kg
    Log - 105kg
    Front squat - 155kg

    Don’t think I’d be anywhere near these numbers these days but still strong ish last year I developed a Deep Vein Thrombosis which I had 7 months of treatment on and even though I’m in the clear I’ve got a dodgy gene which wants my blood to clot so still need to be careful.

    Aim this year is to be mainly active cycling & and short runs along with hobby building as can’t keep away from the gym.

    Current weight is around 108kg aim is this year is to get down to as least 100kg gradually.

    1st one of the year

    Bits in the garage today as I’ve got a poorly boy at home

    One set of each done on a circuit start again after a few min rest.

    Safety bar squats
    8 x 50kg
    10 x 50kg
    12 x 50kg
    8 x 70kg
    10 x 70kg
    12 x 70kg

    EZ bicep curls +20kg
    8, 10, 12, 8, 10, 12

    5kg plate side raises
    8, 10, 12, 8, 10, 12

    Hopefully a decent ride out in the morning as well.

    Weight this afternoon not been on scales in a while happy enough considering time of year it is and how much booze has been consumed.

    What bike do you ride on mate?

    I bought a road bike around two years ago but it was uncomfortable as fuck. For that reason I rode it twice left it in my garage for 6 months then sold it.


    I want to get fitter this year though and running isn’t an option.

    thinking to get a mountain bike.

    I’ve got 3 bikes mate
    Mountain bike
    Road bike
    Hybrid bike (Similar to mountain bike but with skinny wheels etc like a commute bike)

    I use all three to be honest but last year I used mostly the hybrid & MTB as I like to be sat upright.

    Road bikes are difficult to fit (set up) really need to be suited to one to ride one.

    Goner be pushing on all three if these this year.

    In garage at home one set of each exercise done in one full set.

    Bow bar squats
    8 x 50kg x 2 sets
    8 x 70kg
    15 x 70kg

    Ez bar bicep curls +20kg
    12, 12, 12, 12

    Front raises 5kg plate
    12, 12, 12, 12

    At a funeral this morning an old school friend passed due to an heart attack she was only 45 her eldest lad turned 18 on Boxing Day she died 3 days before makes you think how lucky we are.

    Hopefully gym in the morning pre-work if I can get my ass out of bed as it’s my first day back at graft.

    Did a 5k interval run last night about 34 mins pretty easy tbh.

    Rope pushdowns

    Smith machine front shoulder press (weight only)

    Got works annual medical in a few hours

    Done a fast 12 mile bike ride on hybrid last night.

    Did a Hi Lo programme on the treadmill for 40 mins done just over 5k

    Had works medical today weighed 109kg clothed the nurse said let’s have a look at the first time you ever came to this doctors in 1996 And I weighed 76kg

    Took youngest to his swimming lesson quick arm pump in the gym there did....
