Kidney Health/first Cycle/hrt

Playing 50/50 with one kidney is daft on a good day with the wind blowing in the right direction. You could legitimately shorten your life exceptionally. It’s all good and well people saying it shouldn’t impact kidneys but if you suffer severe bp fluctuations that in itself will strain the kidney and has the potential to leave permanent damage.

You can obviously do whatever you want. But no one should be on the train of thought that it’s a good idea for your set of circumstances.

I agree with you.

I know you are only trying to help but i dont think your tone is necessary. Thank you for your advice. Anyway after hearing most of what people have said on here im unlikely to do it, i wasnt 100% sure anyway. Also, its more than just excuses man ive pretty been in hospital all my life, ive had more than just renal problems but that is the main thing. I only wanted advice. Its funny when people call me a grown man, id say im anything but a grown man. Sigh.
Thanks again.

It’s not safe with two fully functioning kidneys, let alone one. Anyone who said steroid use shouldn’t impact your kidneys is a brainless twat.

You’re a grown man though, if you wanna roll the dice you only have yourself to answer to. Nobody here is gonna tell you it’s anything less than A foolish move though chief.

You don’t need to convince anyone with your reasoning, you can do as you wish. Just know that it’s a foolish move if you do go for it.

Good luck whatever choice you make. You can do a lot naturally though mate, if you put the effort in and stop making excuses.

And as an Adage, anybody with mental health issues should avoid steroids like the plague, if you think it’s bad now wait until you add androgens to the mixer.... You’ll find out how bad it can get.

It wasn't my most well thought out response!

@Godofwarrr don't take offense, this is probably the most sensible thread on the board

If you really think you are low T get in touch with Dr Stevens in the link I posted, he is pretty forward thinking on the trt front and everything would be monitored, far more thoroughly than any NHS doctor would.

Failing that get a log up and post diet/training etc. I bet there are improvements to be made in both areas. There are very knowledgeable people on this board as well as dummys like me who will help!

Theres also plenty of other manlets of 5'7 or less

I've got kidney issues myself from a bike accident and steroids definitely effect kidneys imo. Maybe not directly but my advice would be to lose all unnecessary weight. So all the excess fat and water you're holding has to go. No options. If you lose all the shit weight you're carrying you can afford to carry an extra 5kg of muscle mass which shouldn't* harm you or put pressure on the system. You also wouldn't need steroids to add this muscle.

I've spoken to a couple of top renal specialists at the royal free hospital and they claim a high protein diet and my previous steroid use had no impact but by making myself carry excess muscle mass, that put pressure on my kidneys.

I'd stay clear of any steroids or any drug especially for the time being as losing the shit weight you're carrying will not need any drug. If you're set on taking something then please put your body in the best position possible first. Don't add 10kg muscle mass + water to the weight you're already carrying.

Thank for the reply.

What you said was really helpful. That’s what I’ll try and do from this point on.
Would it be okay to message you at some point in the near future when hopefully I have shifted this weight in regards to possibly usuing low dose test?

No worries mate. Yeah message anytime but please do reconsider the test/drugs for now and focus purely on getting your body to the fittest it can possibly be and then if you want to do anything else it's up to you but you might just suprise yourself and be happy with how you look naturally.

I promise you, from someone who cared about muscle for years and years, it's really not worth it. Which if you met me 5 years ago you'd never hear me say. Good luck and don't let yourself stop you, take the diet day by day and you'll soon fall in love with being healthy and training.

I just feel like total shit. I want this weight gone. I want to have some muscle and strength. I want a jawline. I’ve been stuck like this for so long physically, and it’s taken a toll on me emotionally. Every time I see myself it’s like a reminder of all my medical problems and surgery I’ve had. I know deep down I’d be happier if I got in much better shape a lost of this crap weight. Maybe i’d even start carrying myself differently.
I feel like if I can make this change it will positively effect other areas of my life.

I won’t touch anything until I’ve lost this weight, and then like you said maybe I’ll be happy with the results I’ve got by then.
I looked at test and primo cause honestly out of all the stuff out there they seem to be the safest. But anyway, I’m putting all that on the back burner for now.

I do have to clean up my diet and get a proper routine established. I feel like I still need help on that even though I’m not a total beginner. I’ve read a lot of stuff but nothing seems to stick. Don’t know why I struggle so much.
I’m excited about going to the gym again. It’s almost like a second home, feels therapeutic in some ways.

hire a coach instead of spending it on gear for now

youll have guidance and someone to help you along the way. Routine and diet plus some motivation and accountability.... Hilly, Con etc on here

It is therapy, you don't have to think about anything else whilst you are training.

How do you normally train, ie what style of training? Maybe a new style of training or routine will re ignite your interest and help you stick to a better diet?

This is another reason to not do anything given you already know there is stuff you need to be doing and aren’t.

You say you don’t know where to start but you have said you need a proper routine and clean up your diet.

Step one - eat less shit

Step two - train regularly 3 times a week

Then make lots of little improvements over time. Most will tell you this is a marathon not a sprint it will literally take time drugs or not, the more consistent effort you put in the more benefit you will reap over time.

If your hoping to walk into something and come out looking like action man in six months that’s not going to happen.

I dieted for a year and still looked fat, three years on I’m still not lean. I’ve dropped 95lb and definitely improved my muscle composition a little but still got a long way to go.

I really don’t eat that much shiit. I want it like a starving lion lol.
Actually going to the gym today!

That’s the issue though isn’t it.

Everyone wants a great physique and to look good but nobody wants to put the endless hours down in the gym and stop putting shite food in their body.

You’re talking years to build a decent physique, even on steroids. It’s nlt gonna happen anytime soon, it requires work and dedication.

If you can’t motivate yourself to do it now then nothing is gonna change.

Get to work man, start today, one step at a time then just keep doing it everyday. If you can’t do that then you can’t make the changes you say you want to make.

It really is about hunger, how much do you want it and will you put the work in to get your body where you want it?

If so get on with it, go to the gym today and make a start, if it’s a no then just forget it as it’s not gonna happen by itself.

Nobody can motivate you, except yourself.
