The boys all good, really funny little character, 3rd lot of immunisations this morning.

We were arsehole parents, chuckling at his delayed response from the inject:

    Dribble
    Dribble
    *Injection
    Smile
    Dribble
Hold on, did something just prick my...

    Waaaaaaaaaaaah!

Funny little thing, loving every second of it mate!

2lb and half an inch off,

    20st / 280lb on the button

    Gym today was

    Incline bench
    Peck deck
    Box squats
Viking press - super setting front and normal grip
    Tricep extensions
    Pulls ups
    Curls

    Done!

First squats for 4 months, blowing out my arse with 60kg pmsl

Mind you I've barely farted over the last 16 weeks so no surprise my cardio is non existent.

Back to work in the office now on a phased return, could go back full but meh, working from home for half the week.

Training is coming together nicely though, still enjoying the bodybuilding malarkey.

So I've got a nice little routine going now that I can squat a lil bit.

This how it looks and what I did today

    Box squats
    Incline bench
    Peck deck
    Deadlifts
    Pull ups
    Viking press
    Leg extensions
    Tricep extensions
    Curls

So pretty much covers all bases really, still higher rep work, short rest periods.

    Incline Bench
    Pec deck
    Viking press
    Leg Press
    Tricep extension supersets with CGBP

Seems to all be going well mate.

Once your fully healed do you think you'll keep this kind of training up?

Yeah probably mate, easier while I have the little one.

Gives me more flexibility and don't have to worry about hitting n% of my max on week x of training cycle y.

Quick update, training's going well, about 3 inches off my waist now and sitting at 279lb this morning.

Incline bench is up to 120kg, box squats are the same.

Deadlifts are into the 160's, just moving through the gears slowly.

Also started to incline dumbbell bench on a slight incline. Started with the 50kg bells, felt comfortable.

Not too fussed about pressing overhead, mostly doing seated barbell in the 80's, but also found a machine which actually hits my delts. I find the hammer strength machine plate loaded doesn't do much for me,

Lifting with a bit more aggression now as the leg improves. Limp has almost gone, still can't push off the toes though, just nothing there.

    Anyway here's my recent lifts

A damn shame with the benching, before injury I was well on my way to a 170+ PB

Just a quick update, training's going smoothly.

Deadlifts up to 170kg double overhand

I've mainly been doing single legged leg presses for legs. Pretty damn hard, really feel the strength difference on these.

Incline pressed the 57.5kg dumbbells for a couple sets of 5 today, also decided to try out a little flat benching for the first time since July, close gripped 140kg for a triple, good speed too.

Just winding down for christmas now, although i'm planning to train through the holidays.

Decent little session to finish this years serious training. Off for Christmas break tomorrow, might train but likely to be a local council gym so probably won't be able to do much.

Today I dumbbell pressed the 60's on an incline, after faffing about with single leg press, extensions and peck deck I went on to flat bench and close gripped 150kg for an easy double without a spot.

Wednesday I trained back and shoulders, rowing the 60's and deadlifting up to 180kg for a treble.

Pressing from this morning (excuse the graceful set up on the dumbbells lol)

    Rows and deadlifts from Wednesday

    Merry Xmas,

Been eating a fuckton and drinking a fair amount.

Out in Cornwall until 6 Jan.

Found a small barbell club in Truro called "The Gym" affiliated with BDFPA.

Real small, but with barbells, dumbbells, 2 racks, leg press and more.

Turned a few heads surprisingly, but then I forget the feats of strength you see training at somewhere like Genesis is rare.

Worked up to a 140kg close grip triple, dumbbell rows at 50kg (heaviest they have), dips, tricep extensions, single leg presses, standing OHP.

Wanted to do more, but caught up in lots of conversations and chit chat.

Not a bad place though, going back on Friday.

    Onwards and upwards.

Another full body session at "The Gym" in Truro.

Deadlifts up to a 220kg single, first bit of serious deadlifting since being injured.

Moved on to close grip bench working up to an easy 140kg x3 then 150kg x3

Then single leg press, OHP at 60kg for sets of 10 and finished off with cable curls and tricep extensions.

    Onwards and Upwards!

we do forget sometimes what we do... we measure ourselves against some pretty amazing lifters like those you find in Genesis and then I think are surprised when we find other gyms dont have the same pedigree... :D
