    Yeah, he's an awesome little fella, grown so quickly, just under 5 months old and over 20lbs, good lad

    Good guy is Dave, was nice meeting up with his family.

    Discussed WSM and Ed Hall, both agreed Ed would pretty much break every powerlifting record going but no point as no money in it.

    He said he's not sure if Ed would get WSM as his fitness isn't up to scratch for carrying n moving type events.

    He said I should do strongman, quite a few have been after me to do it, not sure it's doable now after the Achilles tear.

    I doubt it man, the only time I came close was after the rupture, almost bought some GH, then changed my mind last minute.

    Another session in Truro.

    Close gripped an easy 150kg triple, dumbbell rows, standing presses up to 90kg, dips, lateral raises.

    Just enough to tie me over.

    Feeling strong on bench, should really test a max before dieting kicks in.

    Not quite firing on all cylinders so probably good for a single at 165kg at the moment.

    Last session probably on Thursday before heading back to London.

    More training today, last one in Truro

    Dumbbell bench with the 50's up to 10 reps

    Dumbbell fly's

    Close grip pin press up to 140kg x3 and 150kg x3

    Speed bench at 100kg close grip and wide grip

    Did a bit of squatting, but my knee is giving me some trouble at the moment.

    I used my barsense app to track bar path and speed analysing close grip V wider grip for speed.

    Even though close grip feels more comfortable and powerful, wide grip moves faster.

    Saying that the path looks a little better on close grip

    Had a quick read through your journal mate you should definitely give strongman a go.

    Back in my home gym again after taking last week off, had some manflu, then the boy had it, so was just an all round busy tired week.

    Plan now is to shave a few pounds while maintaining a decent amount of strength.

    Also need to build my posterior strength back up post Achilles tear.

    Today's session

    Incline dumbbell bench

    30's x10
    40's x8
    50's 4x5

    Close grip paused bench

    60kg x5
    100kg x5
    120kg x3
    140kg x3
    140kg x3

    That's it, short n sweet.

    Got a bit knee trouble at the moment, so not sure about squats this week, but hoping to at least deadlift.

    Onwards and Upwards!

    My knee still feels a little off, but decided to still train this morning.

    Deadlifts

    60kg x5
    100kg x5
    140kg x3
    160kg x2
    180kg x5,5

    Sumo

    100kg 2x8

    Squats

    First squats since last July, just a 60kg 3x5

    Hammer strength plate loaded row

    4 sets of 8

    Felt good to squat again, I can feel my legs shaking, so will probably feel it tomorrow.

    More squats lined up for Friday plus some felt work

    Squats

    Bar x a bunch
    65kg 3x5

    Slow and deliberate, really sitting back to minimise knee travel and avoid messing up my knee.

    Interestingly my strongest squats have always been done that way in the past.

    Anyways on to seated barbell press

    60kg x5
    70kg x5,5,5,5

    Twiddled my thumbs for a bit then decided to do a bit of bench practice using wide grip, don't really like the wide grip, don't seem to get any extra weight out of it

    Done

    Did sweet FA with diet this week, so 20st 7lb, hence why pressing feels so effortless lately.

    All pretty straight forward, knee is feeling better although I have been taking anti-inflammatory.

    Deadlifts bad more squats on Wednesday.
