Lower Back Issues

Physio isn't helping so I'm asking you degenerates as a last resort.

Lower back has been fucked for about 2 months, seemed to be improving til I cleared the garage out the other day to make a semi decent lifting area and now it's fucked again.

Don't want it to impact training while I'm off work and can make the most of diet/gear. Any advice on improving things besides rest? Done plenty of that already.

Question is of a medical nature. I would go & see a specialist or look for a better one than before. would just try doing lower back with say dorsal raises on the floor with some abs. would get a scan maybe you did but a new one. I remember my neck was bad but a year later i got a 2nd scan which showed the prolapsed disc (C6/C7) had returned enough to leave my nerves untouched.

oh & two surgeons wanted to operate. i never did it. had a series of injections under CT. Maybe an option for you too. did help me.

you had any scans or anything? I saw a “physio” more than once who was adamant it wasn’t a disc issue even though it’s an issue I’ve had for years now since I got hit by a car. scan a few months later and disc was hanging out to the point where if it goes again they reckon they’ll have to remove it and put a spacer in there. Fun times and a waste of money on that cunt

Not yet but if it continues I will, feels like gristle when I rub it. Fucked it picking the mrs up of all things, and she's not even a whale.

Does it hurt all the time or just when moving?

What movements/positions make it better?

What movements/positions make it worse?

How did the pain begin (what caused it if u can pin it down)

Not all the time, fine sat/laid down or if I'm in a certain position for prolonged periods. Absolute agony when I wake up in a morning and have to straighten it out.

I had similar for years, couldn’t stand up straight when I got out of bed. Couldn’t squat or deadlift etc without pain for years. Sciatica etc etc

I self diagnosed myself as probably having a bulging disk and bought a reverse hyper machine about 8-10 weeks ago

Use it 4-5 times a week, sometimes more and now I’m 100% pain free and I feel great

@Beef i've had lower back issues for ages, before you get treatment of any kind get an MRI or Xray so the treatment actually works and they know what the issue is. I often get twinges in my lower back which causes one side of my glutes to lock up (normally my left) which irritates the lower back/movement. I've been to countless physios and in the end without having an operation the only thing that actually fixes it is a certain stretch position I do.

@Beef This is the stretch that helps, I do it for about 20-30 seconds on each side, it really stretches the ass out and relieves locked lower backs/ass muscles, you will feel a lot of pulling, and for me it provides instant relief.

I was about to reply to your first comment to see if it was this kind of thing you do. Helps me a lot too

yeah you tuck your raised leg under your abs, and the higher you bring it up towards the top of your abs the more stretching you feel, it works well for me. Just relax your muscles as you do it.

yeah needs an MRI an X-Ray is not really good in most cases. I say that because i was at a Doctor first who just did an X-Ray said i can´t see anything but will send you upstairs to a Chiropractor. He fucking did my neck & i remember said, "oh, your neck is easy to do". A week later i had a computer tomography in the tunnel. prolapsed disc. bottom line is not all Doctors know their shit. Go for the scan !
