I'm undecided mate but as of right now I'd say no, pointless to turn up to hit way under on squat and dead with a potential PB bench isn't it.

Maybe it’s just my back being a bit glass at the moment but I threw in ssb the other day and really felt it in my spine coming out the hole. Do you find it better with your back issues?

It's a weird one mate, SSB defo works the lower back/ erectors, similar to a conventional deadlift in a lot of ways I guess.

I like them because flexibility wise I find them much easier and being able to grab handles in front of me I feel more secure and tighter, this in turn makes me feel more stable when squatting if that makes sense?

Don't get me wrong, I feel it in my back slightly but in a way I want to work the area a little bit too, if I baby it too much it will just get weaker and weaker imo.

Also I don't push the sets that hard, not to failure or silly weights, just enough.

@s man normally you feel ssb squats in the upper back as you have to keep upper back tighter as the bar wants to pull you forward more.

Omelette have you ever done Hatfield squats? This is originally what the bar was invented for. Don't hold the bar at all either hold the uprights of the rack or put an Oly bar in the rack and hold against that. You can keep yourself very upright and self spot using the bar across the rack.

No mate never done them, seen them done and often thought they seemed a good option, paranoia that the bar would fall off me if not holding the handles would be strong
