This was the second set on my first time back benching after tearing my epicondyle bundle (I was attempting a 95kg one-handed snatch and fucked it right up). I hadn't trained any kind of pressing/compound exercises for 8 weeks, but I'd started using peptides to speed the healing, and felt like I could handle the weight. First set I got a really clean 6 reps, and surprised myself.
I'm getting 4 sets of 8 at 180kg atm, with the last set being RPE 9. The arm healed really well... happy to recommend GHRP, Mod-grf and MGF for tendon injuries.
Muscle memory kicking in, thankfully, after almost a year of elbow grief... following above, a few weeks later and I'm hitting 200kgs for 4 – this was after a set of 180 x 8 too.
My best ever (competition paused, not t&g like these) benches are 252.5 with single ply shirt, 230 raw with wrist wraps only. I reckon I can beat that by March, at 40+y/o. positive thinking and all that.
No video but excited to hit 5 plates/500lbs bench -- 2 reps raw with no spotter assistance at all -- had to tell someone. So glad to have my bench back.
