I can't see the UK ever going into full lockdown again regardless of new variants etc.

There is no interest in the general population now or who catches the virus, lives, or dies, and the Govt will just continue with their stance about people taking their own precautions to keep themselves as safe as possible from virus transmission. There won't be a return to mandatory Covid laws and another nationwide lockdown is very unlikely imo.

The only situation that might bring on some temporary local lockdowns is too much strain on the NHS in certain areas dealing with serious Covid cases. Economically speaking, I don't think this country would survive any more lengthy lockdowns and business closures in many industry sectors.

I think the whole thing is being used to force through a Digital ID which in its first incarnation will be marketed as a health pass (ie covid pass) but will morph over time in to one app for everything including a social credit score, tracking you whatever you do and at some point relatively soon a cashless programmable currency

^Is there any hard evidence for this last part, not really but from what I’ve read and the people this is coming from who have predicted what’s happening step by step from the outset I feel this a now a realistic conclusion due to what I’ve seen happening and is continuing to happen

It was always about the strain on the NHS rather than peoples' lives. They were quite open about this. It was always "protect the NHS" and saving lives seemed to be secondary.

Never say never with these lot. Anything is possible and make no mistake they don't give a fuck about the economy. If they did they wouldn't have pushed brexit.

Your argument falls flat because basic human rights negate any mandatory electronic tagging. So while they may come out with some kind of app like the one you're referring to, people can just refuse to carry it around with them. Simple.

As for a cashless programmable currency, we're pretty much there anyway. Even fiat money is by its very definition "cashless" and even if you did assume for a second that banknotes were physically tangible like gold etc. it would still end up in a bank which would input it into their cashless programmable currency system before spewing it out again from an ATM.

People need to think a little harder about the scenarios they are proposing. Yes the vaccine hasn't been safety tested but again, the government will gladly make money hand over fist over lots of things that they KNOW FOR A FACT already kills such as smoking so I don't see why people are so up in arms all of a sudden over a vaccine.

France, Scotland, Wales, Austria not to mention a shit load of other countries have already implemented COVID passes, Scotland had a session the other day where they talked about extending it to pubs, clubs, restaurants etc. They decided not to as it wasn’t proportional to the current COVID thread apparently, but if you don’t think that’s gonna change you haven’t been paying attention the last 2 years.

In the initial panic stages about Covid...I think most of us just got blindsided by all the advice and info and we were lulled into a false sense of security that made us all think the Govt was actually acting in our best interests. I woke up and got a sniff of the roses very quickly tbh, thankfully, and it became blatantly obvious that the NHS was actually more important than peoples lives.

Brexit and Covid are both just subjects in a huge melting pot of bureaucracy, bullshit, and lies, and it's a very sad state of affairs to be honest. I personally would not be able to survive another long lockdown coz brexit and covid already seriously compromised my business and my life over the last 2 years and I've struggled just to stay afloat.
If it happens again....I'm totally fooked.

I honestly done think the public will take/stand for another lockdown. Covid has gone on too long now. We've all mostly had our jabs, which apparently was the way out, so putting restrictions in now will cause a massive backlash. Will hurt the Tory's ratings.

It'll be back to mask wearing, a pointless passport which does absolutely nothing to stop the spread, but i think what they might do and what they want is mandatory jabs, which im 100% against!

I think this new variant is just another excuse for mandatory jabs. Probably have lanyards with QR codes on next, like China.
