Protein Bars

    I need a protein bar which has a lot of calories as well as protein.

    Most of the protein bars I've tried don't have enough protein or taste awful.

    What does everyone think are the best protein bars and why?? (Thinking of stuff like taste, cost, protein, calories, energy etc)

    I like the sound of that!

    Always getting food in. But 3500kcal a day is a tough target to hit with meals. This is why I'm looking for the best protein bars to have at work and when im busy in between meals

    I'd go for shakes above bars.
    But better yet, make your own protein flapjacks, and just add protein to suite your needs.

    3,500 is not a tough target to hit with food!
    Generally protein bars are loaded full of shit ingredients, basically a chocolate bar with poor quality protein added. So higher cal protein bar = higher amount of crap in it
    If it's purely for convenience then just pre make a shake with oats, whey/casein then anything else you need to increase Cals. Eggs, nut butter etc

    That's only 3 x 1000 cal meals plus snacks!

    For easy cals. Fats are your friend.

    bars are shite and contain poor proteins

    shake plus fats or with carbs or both

    or make your own with oats and protein powder and bake them...

    OP what do you weigh?

    3500 is not much...

    2 scoops whey 100g Oats and a spoon of oil blended together with some frozen berries - that's a 650-850 calorie shake easy ..........

    2 of those a day with fats a touch higher and that's 1700 cals or half your daily amount done... can drink it and prep it in about 2mins max....

    You can easily make your own cheaply using oats, whey, peanut butter etc.

    Pricing on bars is usually extortionate for what they are and they are normally full of shit like corn syrup, soy chips etc.

    If you can pull out a bar to eat you can easily pull out a bit of cooked meat instead imo.

    Usually full of cheap protein sources such as whale bone and gelatine.
    Cheap nasty carbs, added oils for moisture.
    Add cheap flavourings

    Cluster fuck of poor protein, high calories, polyols screwing label macro and real macro readings

    Pass. I'd rather pop into boots and buy some sushi or nuts for a quick snack

    Oh Year, Quest, Grenade Carb Killa bars... they're decent.

    Protein cookies are awesome too, but they are shit protein sources.

    I like the CNP flapjacks, which is pretty cool because I order and just had 3 boxes of 12 and a box of 24 come :thumb:.... post show obvs :)

    I get what people are saying about being shit protein etc but unless you're dieting and its a one off.....
