Any of the uk guys who are on prescribed trt from the NHS, what was the procedure you went through?

I’m just out the docs after getting blood work done for mood, motivation and anxiety. As part of the blood work, he done a hormone panel and my test and free test was low 5.3 and 0.2.

The doc has prescribed me testo gel without any referral to an endocrinologist. Is this normal procedure?
He wants me to run it for 4 weeks then get bloods again then assess how I am feeling.
I never went expecting anything relating to trt so I’m kinda still trying to get my head around it.

I've been having on going test for like over a year with andrology finally got a appointment with endometriosis next week and had so many checks lol mine have varied from 9nmol up to 12nmol and had one afternoon one a 5nmol so it taken ages I also have high prolactin which I thinks keeping it low also had MRI for pituarity tumour I'm feeling ok just energy levels low and libido and strength has gone so see what they say.

I'm surprised they didnt refer you or even do additional test first.

Have you done cycles in past?

He checked prolactin and it was in range. I’ve had issues with it in the past being high. Self checked using Medichecks.

To be fair he ran loads of bloods, the only thing that was off was low test.

I’ve cycled on and off for years so maybe I have crashed my t levels. Been off a while though.
Tested it through the last couple of years and it’s never been higher than 10nmol/l.

I was just very surprised to get testo gel so easily, it seems to me he’s missed a lot of steps.

I was actually expecting antidepressants and CBT!

I'd take the gel in a heart beat over jabs. Everyone goes on about jabs being better etc however I still think that's bodybuilder mentality thinking. If the gel puts you in high normal range just buy rubbing it on your plums without the pain of jabs then it's a no brainer to me.

Rub it on your plums never new did it that way. Don't you have to be careful you don't have plum to taco contact as you might increase the mrs test too lol

    I will do.

Not really training as I have no energy. Always feel exhausted with little to no motivation.

My concern with the gel is cross contact onto my son.

You only have to avoid contact immediately after application. You don't become like some infected disease ala walking dead. Rub it in. Wait 5 mins put your clothes on wash your hands jobs a good un. Much easier than jabbing

What have you tried yourself out of interest.
Have you thought about a low carb high ish saturated fat diet. Along with pregnenolone which is something that balances your hormone profile you might find your levels mood and energy boost a bit doing this
