Waist "training"?

Sooo, thought I'd give this a go. Measured waist around belly-button at 35" relaxed and 33" 'vacuumed'.

Started off with 5 x 1 minute vacuums and will try to repeat daily for a month and will see if there is any difference. Took pics for reference.

Youv managed 1 min vacuums straight off the bat ?

My client just tried them. Didn't make it past 18 seconds lol

meh... I keep tight as a matter of course through the day but doubt I will be vacuuming and shit... as Con said through the day I tend to keep it tight for support and stuff... when in bed or sitting it tends to relax...

Jason Huh is a big advocate of them, I'm sure he posted of fb about continual training of them being able to expand your ribcage permanently adding to the effect.

I was also watching a vid the other week about back problems/ant pelvic tilt and how vacuums and strengthening hams can help minimize it.

Also Kelly Starret is always preaching the benefits of keeping tension in the abs at all times.

I dnt think you did...
I can't hold it for that long lol
You can't breath during a vacuum pose so if you could then it wasn't a vacuum.
To vacuum I exhale as hard as I can
Then block off my air ways and suck/breath in as hard as I can focusing on an "in and up" feeling in the gut/abs.

Have been doing these twice per day 5 x 20 secs and starting to notice a slight difference.

Even when lean I have a slight distension on the lower abdominal region so giving them a bash this year to see how they go.

Quote interested in this, especially the vacuums, especially as someone who has such a bad anterior pelvic tilt i look pregnant

I was holding in as much as possible but was still breathing! I'll try one where I don't/can't breathe and report back.....

O.k, by sucking in so hard I couldn't breathe, managed 40 seconds before nearly fainting.
I only did the 1 rep as it looks a bit suss coming out of the works toilets with a red face and wobbly legs.

Dat sneaky work-wank lyf

I tried to do it at my desk (behind computer screen) thinking nobody would see me.

They didn't but they heard me gasping for breath, someone came over asking me if I was OK. FFS.

I vacuum daily, cos the mrs moans at me to get hoovering.

No chance of sucking my stomach in currently though. Not sure I've ever been able to.
