What’s Your Leg Press Max?

    Haven’t trained legs for months due to an injury, been doing light weight for a few weeks nursing it back and it finally felt 100%. Worked up to 400kg on the leg press for 5 reps.

    what’s your max weight? Bet some of you big guys can push proper heavy weight!?

    I used to get up to 480 for 14 with pauses at the bottom and knees to chest and then have a couple of lads strip off a plate a side doing drop sets all the way down to 200. That was after squatting as well. Loved leg days and could be in there for 1.5-2 hours.

    This morning I stopped at 300 for 14 :rofl:First leg session for a while and it shits me up after the DVT. It’s left my knees shot and leg gets swollen and uncomfortable often.

    all depends on machine, got 3 different ones in my gym, 2 in other gym I use each one hugely different bits of kit even though they basically are the same

    I’ve done 650kg for 8

    It was a 45 degree leg press. All machines are different though

    I stopped training legs so I could fit in skinny jeans

    Sick mate - bet 480 feels like your going to get crushed on the way down haha. Do you wear knee straps or anything to support them? I have some but never worn them

    Hate leg press, just load up plates until I feel I'm about to have some sort of prolapse then have to take them off again. Would much rather go heavy on squats.

    This is why I prefer horizontal to 45 degree leg presses. Keep you more honest weight wise. 4 plates a side on a horizontal is a decent weight and for a set of 20 tough. That would be 8-9 plates a side on a 45

    Personally think verticals are back disasters waiting to happen. I’d never use one

    My back feels worse on a 45 than vertical! Strange!

    Depends on loads of things, I normally do them near the end or superseted with something... My last session was 320 feet close together and low on platform, slow negatives and stopping short of lockout for 8 reps. Barely any weight but felt hard as fuck, if I did them first with wide and higher stance the weight would be much higher but would be pointless for me

    tried a few of these,
    kinda novel but never get a decent vibe from them.
    go to now is Pendulum, hack and 45 press, occasionally have used the v squat but that's more hip than quad for me, on a rotation when I'm bored.
    long legs not worth a wank even when I've been pushing silly poundage consistently over long time.

    so fuck it :D
