Yeah yeah, the fucking saga continues! Laugh it up cnuts! Right, opinion from mechanics/car enthusiasts. Not giving full history as it'll be a chore and just want opinions on the following. Quick test is heard about for checking your MAF is to unplug it with the car running. If it continues to run, maf is fucked. This sound right? And would the EML being lit make a difference? Cars an A5 B8
It should run a lot rougher/not as well with the maf unplugged If there’s no change to how it’s running then the maf is prob the fault Eml will come on when the maf is unplugged but if the maf is ok then it should go out once the maf is plugged back in once the ignition has been turned off and on again It used on my mk4 golf anyway On the Audi it might stay lit up until the light is reset
No idea mate but having spent thousands on a £2k Audi i know how you feel. Its never ending. Hope you get it all sorted
Good call!!! Dog shit the original ones From experience I’d check: Maf Coolant temp sensor Vac hoses (CCV ones mainly round the head) for any splits
Started with a misfire on cylinder 2 (plug electrode had snapped off) Moved to 4 changed all coils and plugs. Very intermittent fault. Be fine for 7-10 days then drops all power, misfires and goes into limp mode. Inbetween it runs like a dream. Was having a race against an S5 on Tuesday night wasn't getting embarrassed either. The. Thursday night sitting on a motorway I felt it go. Turned off and on and it was fine again
Well, car runs the same if Maf is plugged in or not. £100 for a new one, might see if a breakers has a one in
