Good effort from the lads...still one of the top 4 in the world.
Defo. For such a young team they played amazing and shocked the whole nation.
Can't wait to see where this young team goes now.
Think they've just converted me to a full time football fan.
Unlucky chaps, you played well in the first half but then Croatia took control and deserved the win.
Yous failed to make the clinical passes hence why only 2 shots on goal. Still done well in the tournament.
Just went to shit didn’t they, last hour was mostly painful to watch, midfield fell apart and they reverted to just trying to play the long ball and getting nowhere. Harry Kane didn’t really show up did he.
Better team won and you can’t have too many complaints, if we carried on like that against France it would have been a devastating scoreline anyway so it’s prob for the best.
Shame really as if they’d just kept it up for another half hour they’d have walked it.
Ah well, most of em will see the next one. Probably only Ashley young who won’t.
And as a bonus we get a rematch with Belgium on Saturday. Hope they smash those cunts and give us another excuse for a piss up.
Harry Kane didn't do much in the last either though. Think his recovery rate between games is major slow.
We absolutely fell too shit. Couldn't get it back under control.
Genuinely reckon if we played France like that we would've been hammered 10-0 lol.
We are all Luka Modric
Stick your 3 lions up yer da arse, cos ours is fuckin rampant
Not even editing. Love you breh
I cry ervy tym
its coming home in 2022 see you all then
First half we played how we can, with freedom, Kane and Sterling were holding ball up well and midfield was competing.
Second half onwards we played with fear, how England have always played, with nobody who could put their foot on the ball, to keep the ball and deprive the opposition of the ball (someone like Modric who was magnificent). The midfield were bypassed and Kane/Sterling very ineffective.
I think it is a mental, not physical issue and Southgate has to be a psychologist of sorts going forward. He has to teach the players how to play with total freedom under duress, no easy task IMO.
There has been great performances from Pickford, Stones/Walker/Maguire, Trippier, Lingard, Kane and Sterling. These, with a few additions (from the following : Loftus-Cheek, Rashford, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Sessegnon, Sancho, Tarkowski, Lascelles, Maddison etc) and we can aim for Euro 2020 with the aim of competing for the trophy (England 10/1).
Adios : Young, Hendo, Vardy, Welbeck, Cahill, Jones.
Anyhow, I thought I was quids in last night when my first bet came in, draw in 90 mins at 11/5. I had England in ET and on pens. If only that Stones header had gone in.
