Steroids In The Work Place Drug Testing

Tronic

I’ve worked in many trades and I was in the forces and offshore. I’ve had lots of drug testing but I’ve never come across Steroid testing. I always presumed that we would be blood tested if your employer wanted to test specifically for steroids. I come across this site on google. Has anyone been steroid tested in the work place out of curiosity ? Just wonder how this works ? Surely if we do testosterone only and they test us by hair how would they find out ? Must be more advanced these days and I’ve fell behind ? In all my careers I’ve never seen a test for steroids and my job do test lads for drugs.

Pretty hard for them to get anywhere by testing you for a drug that isn't illegal. I've never heard of a UK company testing for aas personally

Never knew they could test you for roids, then again I have been self employed for over 25 years now , which is just as well considering the amount of dodgy stuff I have had flowing through my system over the years lol.

Only time I have seen anyone tested was a close buddy who was serving as a PT in the army.

He fell out with his direct in line, he raised a complaint.

Guy got thrown out of the army for using

I get random drug tested and it’s the standard 7 or 9 panel for drugs not roids

The only place I’ve seen test for gear was a in the forces. My mate got off with it but was definitely lucky. Just curious if employers across the board are testing proper and just wondering what kind of occupation would they test. Must be police and army ect.

AAS testing in the Police and Security Services? I doubt it. Have you seen the size/shape of some rozzers. A lot of them obviously on some sort of PED.

I think a PED test would only be requested by an employer if you were clearly using something to make you huge/very muscular and the employer thought it was creating a bad impression for his business/staff/customers etc.

I would take a guess that social welfare, fitness, or healthcare, would be the top 3 for testing....but my GP is a bit of a beast and he hasn't got sacked yet lol.

Hard to do PED tests though with so many different meds to test for these days....it would be very expensive for an employer.

Trouble with work PED tests is that they are expensive and have no relevance to law. Even impairment to carry out duties would be highly debatable other than in extreme cases of heavy use

Agree 100%.
Even with a positive test for certain PEDS...what can an employer actually do without forcing a tribunal and law suit for unfair treatment/dismissal/prejudice.

AAS and PEDS are still legal to use and possess in UK....end of story.....unless you've agreed to terms in a written/verbal contract that state you won't use such meds.

Well I don’t like the police or know anyone with police experience with peds although I do have a mate in the police but the forces do test individually for peds as my mate was tested ( army ) So when you say security I would put the forces under security ???? I was in the forces myself, we never got tested for peds but my mate was tested because the troop sgt wanted him out of the forces and had a personal vendetta against him so he tested him individually. Like I said earlier he got off with the test.

my originally question which I may have not made clear is that has anyone been tested in their career for peds. I’ve been in the military, prisons, offshore, construction and teaching occupational work. I’m just curious of what occupation get tested to keep upto date.

If you check my original post you can see a company that tests for peds. I just like to keep up to date
