She is the worst patient going, thankfully she'll be in for 3 days or so..

... which does have me wondering about my blast. 2 weeks til she's in which will see the end of this training block but then the month may not be easy to train as I'll not be able to bring her with me (we can't access the work gym alone for H&S) and nor will I particularly be able to leave her alone for too long. So I may hold off.... or I may just do it anyway, got a few hours left to decide LOL We're meant to be self isolating from now too.

I feel like yesterday was a well needed day off. With news coming out of the blue yesterday too that my Mrs has her hip op on Fri Feb 5th I have 14 days to get in 12 training session to finish this training block so that's timed perfectly. What isn't timed so perfectly was my desire to start my blast today seeing as the weeks after her op will make things a challenge to get training done. But today was all good, got my walk in before the snow came and shot off with the mrs late morning.

A: Incline BB Press: 10x20, x40, x60, 70x17, 13, 10, 9
B: Incline Cable Fly: 30s x22, 18, 15
C: Free Cable Push Down: 45s x24, 19, 17, 16
D: EZ Bar PD: 35s x27, 27 (20+7), 27 (17+6+4)
E: DB Curl: Myoreps 15s x22 + 5x5

Shoulder not as perfect on the inc work as the flat but still went fairly well today. Quick warm up sets and kept the top sets the same weight. Reps up nicely (+2, +2, -1) 3 up in all then hit the 4th sets which was probably the most comfortable set of the lot TBH. Inc flyes were up a good 4 reps and moving well. Free PDs stayed on track for the session and were quite strong, up 3 reps and tagged in the 4th set too. EZ PDs were a big improvement on last week where I felt they were awkward, each set was +2 thanks to a decent 1st set and the RP work was getting the job done. Biceps finisher was tweaked a little bit and on the money.

 
This op has put a right spanner in the works only thing that could possibly save it is if your young training partner doesn't get back to school and is available which tbh is very likely.

So the recovery is at least a month get her plenty edibles in and she might not be a bad patient lol.

You had snow lucky git all I have had for last couple of days is rain and high winds and a Mrs still lying on the settee watching crap.
 
Yeah, we have to isolate for 7 days prior. Now I could train as there is no-one else there, and I might be able to if she's willing but it's not something I will put out there unless she does as it's not worth the grief so I just have the next few days left. I'll nick the 30kg DBs from work so that I can do something each day to maintain. I'll just do one set on squats, SL, bench, biceps etc etc each day just to stave off the boredom. No point starting the blast if I'll be having 1 week off, then not likely to get back consistently for a week or so after that. Zach has a full lesson plan so I won't be able to use him either as I can't leave the Mrs alone and immobile.

I wish she'd try them already just to know what effect it has on her.

Late session with the son today, bit awkward as he was due a bench session and I was due squats but as he only benches 30 I could keep everything as it was and just hand the bar down to him. Walk and cooking as per for a Sunday was all done.

A: Cyclist Squats: 10x20, 10x40, 10x60, 82.5x19, 15, 13, 12
B: Belt Squats: 75x20, 16, 14
C: Calf Press: 120+ x23, 18, 17, 15
D: Belt Calves: Myoreps 75x19 + 5x5
E: Upright Rows - EZ Cable: Myoreps 25s x19 + 5x5

Grabbed the biscuit plates (I think they are 1.75, I'll have to check when I'm next in) just for something heavier LOL Got some good reps out today tho. Up in weight and up in reps and up in sets. Good quad battering that. Cable squats held on pretty well after that lot too, same weight but each set up +1 so a solid gain. Calf press was up by the '+' pin, still managed to up reps here as well, quite smoothly it felt too. Belted work just up the 1 rep on the activation set and a good grind for the 5x5 to finish the legs off nicely. Quick blast on upright rows to wrap the session up, 2 reps for the good on the activation set, not as easy 5x5 tho.

 
Not good at all dude training wise but on the bright side you shouldn't be away from the gym to long so a bit damage limitation should see you alright.Just think when you get back you'll be in heaven lol.

She hasn't tried them!! She's a crap dope head I would be well into them by now just discovered that 2 glasses of port then dope on toast really kicks it up a notch or two I was spackered last night LMAO.

Yeah, if I nick a pair of heavy and a pair of light DBs I can easily do enough for a week or 2 to keep myself going stale. Mrs is just finishing off her weed, I want her to try it so I I know what game plan we can have and if I need to get some more. She's nearly out and she won't stay clean til the op as she'll be too anxious.

I don't bother pushing him too much TBH otherwise it just becomes a ball ache. Little sod always thinks he knows better despite my 30years of experience and his 3 weeks LOL

I really hope this op is the answer, we may have problems if it's not. I'm not expecting a personality replacement at the same time but a little less aggro would be nice.... more worried about the week of isolating together TBH LOL

Blooming nippy this morning but got my 5k in without going base over apex on the ice. Hit the gym with the mrs for our run up to self isolation while I set some dough aside to proof ready for a fresh loaf later.

A: B/O DB Rows: 15x12.5s, 12x17.5s, 25s x24, 19, 15, 13
B: V Bar Pull Downs: 125+x20, 15, 14
C: Inc Curls: 15s x21, 16, 13, 12
D: Drag Curls - EZ: 25s x22, 20, 16
E: Incline OH Press: 95x25, 25 (16+6+3), 25 (13+7+5)

DB rows got things off to a flyer. Half a dozen up before I even added on the 4th sets. More surprising was how well VPDs went after that lot, not earth shattering but another 4 reps for the good. DB curls were tough tho, I did faff with tech a bit going back to what I know for a solid showing on the extra 4th set. Drag curls were solid, lost 3 reps after breaking even on the 1st and that was with a reasonable weight increase so I'm quite happy with that. Upped the inc press too, by a bit. 1st set was decent but this just made the RP sets afterwards a grind, but got them all out and without crippling my shoulder.

 
She'll love the edibles as long as she gives it a bit time..... honestly it's a much better high than you get smoking.

Like I said before the little dude will know everything there is to know about bodybuilding now, it won't be long before he's correcting your form and passing on little golden nuggets of advice...LMAO

Maybe slip the surgeon a few quid and he could do a lobotomy whilst she's under just think about the peace and quiet.

So how many sessions you got left now before training at home?

Last session will be Friday by the looks of things. Need to drag the boy up for squats this afternoon. Non stop moaning for that one
 
Another session dragging the boy with me for an afternoon leg workout, his squat day my hams. Did all the usual morning stuff. Tomorrow may be tricky now tho, mrs has a load of pre-op stuff to go thru at the local private hospital. May convince her to do a later session but that may take some arm twisting.

As I was training with my son and couldn't be ar5ed with too much faffing with the weights I sucked up a 5kg increase. Didn't fare too badly TBH, rep drop was expected but only 4 down in total. Little sciatica popping up too but nothing major. Seated Hams held up pretty well, even for 4 sets they stood their ground, good weight and good volume, up on the other day when I misloaded with the same weight. Belted calves chased the reps nicely and was up by 5 or 6. Myorep work just up the 1 but all good there after everything else. Forearm work was pretty brutal with all the RP siff but it did the job.

So only a few days left then it's onto training at home have you ever had to train at home or is this the first time?

No chance you can get them racks in the car and Chuck them in the spare room
 
He does alright once he is there, but I don't force the issue. We do the main lift and then with the odd reminder to not rest for half an hour between sets I just coerce him round gently.

I've not trained at home in real sense since I was 15 listening to Rocky on my 3D Super Woofer using a York weights set and a Bullworker LOL This will just be damage limitation tho.

Alas, no chance of getting anything back home don't even have room for anything if I could
 
Mrs got her pre-op assessment all wrong. She only spoke to them yesterday but we turned up today when it's booked for tomorrow so after cutting all my usual start to the day short I got to work to train. On my own this time as she's been feeling rough but a couple of lads are in painting the place so I wasn't technically alone. Also just found out, after flicking thru her notes, that we only have to isolate for 3 fvcking days, she added an extra 4 days to make sure we all behave FFS.... she also just got her vaccine appt thru for sunday but we can't do it as you have to be 7 days clear.

Shoulder not quite as good as the other week but TBH still not bad considering how much it is being pushed right now, it's usually a bit worse than this in peak week if memory serves. Anyway, same weight, a strong +2 on set one which set me up for an even set 2, but 3 and 4 were both +1 each so all good in the end. Flyes went the same way to begin with, found a good groove on the last 2 sets for my shoulder and closed the chest work off well. Upped skulls, same as last week on the last block but 3 sets in I was 4 reps up, dropped 1 on the last but last block I had ?ed the last sets numbers. Ext xovers got off to a good start reps were up on all sets but by the end the shoulder wasn't quite setting in nicely, started a 4th set but chose to abandon it. I'd still done enough work. Bicep work was good, only +1 but all felt good.
