I can't say I'm surprised. It's just not had the interest to make it marketable and profitable to a wider audience. It's been coming a while.
They are going to need to make a 360 to change the image
That's going to mess up A LOT of fragile minds.
They've been reducing prize money so I bet a lot of them saw this coming. I don't see how they can dismiss a whole demographic so easily, it's a shame coz a lot of women train very hard to get to that stage.
I'm going to put my head above the parapet hear and say I think women's bbing should be actively discouraged. This is therefore positive IMO.
I feel the same about heavyweight men's.
I've heard a rumour the Javelin's for the high jump too, shot put is ok though ;-)
Seriously though, have they given any indication of grounds for doing so ?
Physique class seems to be the limit for what the masses deem to be an exceptable amount of muscle for a woman. Even Dana Lyn's selfies often garner comments like "too much" and "gross".
The levels of gear use required to get to the heavyweight division can result in significant defeminising for some, I think that's the biggest issue.
All women's bodybuilding mate or just the heavyweights?
Aggy on the heavyweight men's, pics of Kai in a jumper make him look like a fat bloke despite barely having an ounce of it on him. When you're so big you look shit in clothes you've failed IMO.
Sorry mate should have been clear, just the real heavyweight women.
Yep, thought that's what you were saying.
Seems there are relatively few women that can make it work; getting huge and remaining feminine. For many their features are masculinized and as impressive as the physiques may be they often lose a lot, if not all, of their femininity.
So yeah, its a huge turn-off to many and not a great recruitment poster either.
As with the heavyweight men, I think many of them likely looked their best at a lighter weight, in a lower division but kept going simply because they could.
I'm obviously biased but I do think women look good with muscle, its just that more of it isn't always better.
Utmost respect to the women who achieve that kind of level with their physique. Not always pleasing to the eye but each to their own. Can only imagine the daily shit they have to put up with in from the general public.
women in FBB rolled the dice too many times, took it too far and they have killed their own sport.
Like on MT, i said it began with Kim C winning the olympia in the 90's, that was the line crossed in the sand.
Women felt empowered by bodybuilding in a feminist sort of way and took it too far.
The guys hammer the hormones, some women wanted to do the same and brush aside the gender reassignment comments as discrimination of sorts.
female physique is there to force the toning down of the class so women can compete without having to undergo masculinisation in order to become competitive.
jut jaws, 5'oclock shadow, deep voices, no boobs, teeny weenies for clits, often working as schmoe pleasers. Show me a FBB who doesnt become embroiled into dominatrix/kinky porn or schmoe wrestling. They nailed their own coffin shut.
Have to agree with incredible bulk there to be honest.
as do i but i think this applies just as much to the men. line well and truly crossed.
