Just started watching the wire decent enough upto now

No Oz is the best series made, I personally found Wire way over hyped.
Oz was excellent.
Saw the wire as it aired in the US so no hype and therefore really enjoyed it.
By a similar principle I enjoyed World War Z after reading how it was the worst film ever made.

Enjoyed 1st series of Oz but 2nd had too many slow sentimental parts in between the action for me.

I loved world war Z.
Saw it at the cinema and want to see it again now it's out on DVD but too scared to sit in the dark on my own.

Oz was let down toward the end. It was rushed and you could tell.
I believe it laid the platform down for violence in a TV show for HBO.
The Wire was overdrawn and very stagnant. It did however make you feel as depressed as the minorities it represented and gave the feeling of hopelessness oppression through socio economic plight.
Hands down the best TV show of alll time is the Sopranos.
HBO will not equal that.
