New Hybrid

all time third top poster brahs!
Hopefully files load OK. I fucked my ankle 18 days before competition. Barbell rolled off platform and struck me on ankle where I have a metal plate from an old fracture. It looked very broken but ws assured it was just a 'massive haematoma'. Any way black and blue and very swollen and deformed looking.
Decided would take mates car as its automatic and it was the clutch foot I hurt. Drive was tough and sore but not awful.
Competition day itself had highs and lows. Opened bench with 180kg for a new bpu British record and it flew up. Went 190 for another record, had to work for it but got it. 195 3rd did t go anywhere, no lift.
Deadlift I got my opener in, got the down command, returned it to floor, then fell on my back and tweaked quad on other leg. I was all off set with my stance because of trying to protect the ankle. Tried a 15kg jump but was too tentative. Tried it again and almost got it. Unfortunately hook grip went before could get hips through.
Anyway upshot is 3 M2 British records and qualified for the British and European champs.

The ankle
Well done mate awesome, doing that after how bad your ankle looked a few weeks ago takes some bollocks man!
Thanks mate. I can see how even on bench my body is all off-set due to ankle. So really happy. 190kg single ply is the most I've ever lifted. Done 220kg multiply but that was at 108kg bodyweight. This was 102 and on the day I turned 46. I think there's more to come in that shirt. Would like to think 200kg plus at British in May. Thats the target anyway.

Was the DL tumble a loss of balance with the ankle or a blackout?

Loss of balance due to not being symmetrical on each side. Foot just went from under me. Thankfully after I'd put the bar down so the lift still counts.
