What is Halotestin?

Halotestin, Halo or Cheque drops as they are most commonly known, is probably most famous for being blamed for the infamous moment Mike Tyson took a chunk out of Evander Holyfield’s ear.

Now, we all know Mike was an aggressive forward-moving fighter. If he was using cheque drops at the time, though. It would make sense as to why he did what he did.

Halotestin is an interesting oral steroid. It isn’t actually used very much by competitive bodybuilders, maybe a few when it comes to the last few days before a competition. It is more likely to be found in combat sports or sports where gaining weight can cause issues.

On paper, Halotestin has some of the highest androgenic and anabolic ratings of any steroid. You would assume by taking them you would make unimaginable gains in size and strength in an extremely short period of time.

Cheque drops work a little differently in real life. They are primarily an androgenic steroid and the effects are more androgen based, even though the anabolic rating is over double the androgenic rating the anabolic effects are more moderate.

Halotestin is amazing for increased aggression before a fight or powerlifting competition, they are also great for increasing strength, muscle density and providing a real hard, blocky look to the muscle for people with low body fat. They aren’t actually that great at building muscle.

Taking a c17 alpha alkylated tablet does have its downsides. Side effects can be more widespread and common when taken without precaution or run for longer and high dose cycles.

Androgenic Rating: 850

Anabolic Rating: 1900

Halotestin

Halotestin is a little tricky to get hold of. Not all UGLs manufacture or source it from their suppliers. Its demand is likely more found around fighting or MMA gyms and strength gyms as opposed to regular bodybuilding dungeons.

How Much Does Anadrol Cost?

Because of the rarity of it, the costs associated are a lot more all along the supply chain.

Halotestin is usually supplied in tablets of 2.5mg, 5mg and 10mg.

The costs are usually £60 – £150 for 50 – 100 tablets.

What Does an Halotestin Cycle Look Like?

Halotestin, being the unusual PED that it is, isn’t really ‘cycled’. Its aggressive nature makes it more suitable for pre-competition or pre-workout in the build-up to a power meet or fight.

It is more common to find strength athletes using it in doses from 2.5 mg up to, but rarely over, 10mg an hour before a lift or meet. The increased aggression can help the user to get more psyched up and push more weight, or be more aggressive in the ring.

If a user does intend to cycle Halotestin for a longer period of time then the most common dose would be a two-week cycle followed by four-weeks off. Cheque drops are strong, they are also harsh it is important to weigh out the benefits vs cost when using them.

Halotestin has a relatively short half-life of around 9 hours which make it perfect for fighters in untested feds. Even fighters in tested federations have tested positive for it, even though it is in and out the bloodstream quite quickly.

As with anything to do with performance-enhancing drugs, not everything works for everyone. It is important to listen to your body and see what works for you.

Example Halotestin Cycles

Beginner Halotestin Cycle

Weeks 1 – 2

  • 5mg Halo pre-workout

More Experienced Halotestin Cycle

Weeks 1 – 2

  • 10mg Halo pre-workout

Advanced Halotestin Cycle

An advanced cycle would have to be tailored to what sport the individual is competing in. For example, a strength athlete may be on a cycle of Sustanon and NPP while running Halo sporadically throughout.

Whereas a fighter may only use Halotestin alone for a week in a run-up to a fight, or even just hours before the fight.

What Are The Side Effects of Halotestin

Any drug can have side effects and steroids are no different. Side effects of Cheque drops can come in various ways, however, it is important to note when taking oral steroids they can affect the liver much more than injectable steroids.

Side effects from steroids can affect the cardiovascular system, estrogenic and androgenic.

When using anabolic/androgenic steroids, it is essential to understand the risks associated with the use and also how to minimise the chances of them occurring.

It is important to note that not everyone will experience side effects from steroids. It is essential to know and understand the risk associated with them, though.

We can break down the side effects of Halo into the following subjects;

  • Estrogenic side effects
  • Androgenic side effects
  • Cardiovascular side effects
  • Hepatotoxicity
  • Natural testosterone shutdown

Androgenic Side Effects Of Halotestin

Halotestin is one of the most powerful androgenic steroids on the market. As such it can be assumed that strong androgenic steroids can occur, you would assume right. Many people report suffering from oily skin, breakouts on the back and shoulders as well as deepening of the voice and an increase in body hair growth.

Given its nature users also note much higher levels of aggression when using Halo. It is highly recommended for women to stay away from Halotestin.

If you suffer from male pattern baldness, it is highly-possible Halo will increase the rate at which you are losing hair.

Estrogenic Side Effects

Halotestin is not estrogenic and is not aromatized to estrogen within the body.

Cardiovascular Side Effects

Halo can affect cholesterol levels by reducing HDL or ‘good cholesterol’ and increasing LDL ‘bad cholesterol’. This shift, over time, can result in the hardening of the artery walls and higher levels of fat in the bloodstream leading to strokes, or heart attacks if left unchecked and untreated.

It is highly recommended for anyone thinking about running a cycle, or who has already run one to get blood tests done at least every three months. This not only allows you to know what is going in regards to your health but also make any necessary adjustments before starting.

Does Halotestin affect the liver?

Halotestin is a c17 alpha-alkylated drug. This means a larger portion of the compound survives being broken down by the liver and enters the bloodstream. This passing causes extra strain as the liver has to work much harder to process it.

Damage to the liver can happen in doses from as little as 2.5mg per day and above. Running longer cycles exposes the liver to more damage over a prolonged period of time.

Natural Testosterone Shutdown

Using any form of steroid will lead to the suppression of your natural test production. This often returns after the cycle has stopped. In rare cases or when users have been on cycle for prolonged periods, people can be shut down permanently or suffer from low testosterone levels for many years.

PCT ancillaries such as HCG can help keep the testes stimulated and producing natural testosterone. It is usually taken as a part of a PCT (post cycle therapy).

Benefits of using Halotestin

  • Oral tablet, convenient and easy to take
  • Increased levels of aggression pre-competition
  • Perfect for strength and combat sports
  • Can give a grainy, dense look the muscle for competitive bodybuilders
  • Considered one of the most potent androgenic steroids of all time

Conclusion

Halotestin has its place in some level of sport. Whether you agree with PED use or not is another topic, though. The use of Halotestin is much more widespread in strength and combat sports than bodybuilding.

For somebody looking for extra levels of aggression pre-competition, whether that is fighting or lifting some really heavyweight then you can bet that Halo would help to push them that little bit further.

It does, however, need to be treated with the respect it deserves given its potency.
