Cyclic Dextrin

Alright fellas,
I'v been advised by my coach to take Cyclic Dextrin during training. I'v never heard of it but been taking it for a month now. I can't tell it's effects as my whole diet and retain has changed since hiring him. Should it be a staple in my routine or is it another snake oil supplement?

I'm already taking stim pre workout.

Simple sugar mate. I doubt you’d notice the difference from a Lucozade sport and that. Only the price.

Its not a simple sugar
Its different to dextrose
Its fast absorbing but low GI so doesn't have the same effect on blood sugar as the cheaper carbs
In fact it causes very little GI distress at all

Pooley, really appreciate the detailed reply but that went straight over my head! Is all that a good thing and worth the extra investment on top of the rest of the stack of money were all throwing in. Don't get me wrong, if it helps build muscle when used with all the rest of the kit I'll welcome it into my routine with open arms.

Its proven to be superior to simple carbs for the reasons above
If you can afford it then use it

Will the end result be any different if you used the cheaper stuff? I can't answer that
I'm susceptible to hypos if I use high GI carbs so I feel much better using dextrin

Yes I’ve bought tubs in the past and yup did virtually nothing. Dorian Yates had it on his line. It’s a fad.

If dextrose doesn't cause any stomach issues and your wanting to be careful with money I'd go with dextrose.
If dextrose gives stomach issues, and your still careful with money I wouldn't do any intra carbs atall as the money can be better spent elsewhere.

But if dextrose gives you issues and money isn't a problem go with the cyclic dextrin

I think there's a recent interview with milos where he has his clients chose and usually goes with the cheapest providing no issues with stomach

On paper cyclic dextrin is better but in reality when it comes to results it doesn't matter unless you don't get on with the cheaper carb powders

What amount does he want you to use

I tried those designer carbs, cant remember the name of it, see how good it was for carbing up before a show, it didnt work for me i thought it was shite, unless it was fake from my protein lol
Use it with slin would be a good way of testing it, see if you go hypo on a correct dose.

Similar to Vitargo in that it draws very little water into the gut unlike a simple sugar.
