BDD; like many psychological conditions, is quite vaguely defined. Even if you meet the broad criteria it doesn't necessarily imply you have BDD. There's also different forms of it - Anorexia is obviously a very different thing to anything most people on here would experience.

I know guys who put on bulky clothes if they haven't juiced or trained for a couple of weeks because they think they're shrinking!! Clearly they're not (and they're massive!!) but it's hard to convince them.

Thing is - true BDD is not about your body, its about anxiety and that anxiety is expressed through dissatisfaction with body image. It's pointless telling someone with BDD that they are not how they perceive themselves....you need to address their underlying anxieties. The body thing is just how they manifest - its a symptom not a cause.

You could try thing as a starting point....but always remember - with ANY psychological test - there's a whole raft of things that need considering when interpreting results. No online test will EVER be definitive:

BODY DYSMORPHIC DISORDER SELF TEST

Yes apparently I have it

Before taking the test I know for a fact I have this I'm not happy with any part of my body and see things different to what is actually reality

According to that test I dont have but i know like most of the population of this forum what i see is an unfinished work in progress when i look at myself, ive not trained or eaten like a bber in nigh on a year but the thoughts i have still dont cunsume me in some negative way.

From what i see in gyms it appears that a very small percentage think theyre smaller than they are, most seem to think theyre much bigger or are grossly overcompensating.

Well EVERY part of my body is a BEAUTIFUL work of ART so no I can't say I have this issue at all.
Am I a little obsessed with the muscularity of my body and my general appearance and strength? Yes absalutely but it's not to an unhealthy level at all.
Meaning i never negatively think about it but I do think about changing it so it fits my picture of perfection better.

yes, but I didn't need that test to tell me tbh. I've suffered it for years

nope im fine ..... thank f*ck that's one less thing to worry about

Tested 50/50 which kinda surprised me; am feeling a bit more insecure than normally today though :-)

I have it OP but I will tell you as you get older something just switches in your thinking and you no longer care as much about the things you are overanalyzing or building out of proportion... it's also strange how you can be fixated on one with and it being be all end all then suddenly something worse comes along and you forget about the first thing like it didn't really matter all along.
