Optimus Protein Opti Whey Review

Thanks to Optimus Protein for sending me a sample to review, I chose the vanilla flavour.

I mixed it with 200ml cold water

Mixability: 8/10 only a few small lumps so not a big issue.

Texture: It's a smooth and thin shake.

Taste: 1/10 I didn't like the taste at all, I found it quite artificial and chemically.

Sorry Optimus, I kinda have to agree with that assessment...

Mixed great, was wuite thin/watery despite only using 250ml of water, but the taste was awful... I would give it 4/10 instead of 1/10 though as I've definitely tasted worse... :sad: Sorry...

Which flavour did you try?
 
Thanks for this guys, glad it mixes ok...must try harder with the Vanilla flavour!!!! Perhaps try a chocolate one next time??

Strawberry is a different story then.

Mixing was fine, no lumps. Bit of frothing but it soon settled.

Taste surprised me a lot, I mixed it with 200ml water and it still tasted creamy as if with milk, not that thin, watery taste. Tasted great and will be looking into getting a tub I reckon.
 
Mines arrived this morning, quick delivery as only asked for the sample yesterday, got the vanilla flavour and mixed it with milk as from what i have read its not too great with water, mixed ok with a bit frothing but that soon settled, smelt really nice but didn't taste very much like vanilla, wasn't too bad a taste just needed to be a bit stronger

I received my vanilla sample this morning.

Got to agree with the other reviews, it didn't mix great with 200ml water (still a couple lumps).

It frothed loads, more than any other concentrate I have used. Had more of a texture of an isolate.

Taste and smell really weren't good, I think it's down to the sweetener you used. Comes across as really really bitter on your tongue and stays there, while the sweetness is tasted in the rest of your mouth.

Sorry for the negative review buts it's only on this specific product itself. Great communication tellin me it had been dispatched and it arrived less than 24hrs after requesting.

Thanks for the sample and the opportunity to review. Hope this is of some use.

Thanks for taking the time to review the product. It looks like we have still got some 'tinkering' to do with the Vanilla flavour, but we'll get there in the end.
The Strawberry & Chocolate flavours have been getting decent reviews so that's one good thing.
 
As promised, writing a review of Optimus whey protein in chocolate flavour.

First off ordered on a thursday evening and was delivered by monday so prompt delivery.

Added 60g of powder in with 300ml of water, mixed extremely easily with no lumps. I personally am not a fan of thin shakes so was pleasantly surprised to find this was pretty thick, the taste is great and easily up there with the best tasting shakes i've ever had, not too sickly like a lot of chocolate shakes can be.

Also use on my lion bar cereal post workout and the taste is incredible, also use on plain oats in the morning and again taste is lovely.

Overall very happy and will definitely be ordering from Optimus again.
