Decent Weekend Of Boxing

Yeah, should be an easy fight for the Cuban to be fair...Looking forward to Saturday's line up:

Devon Alexander vs Shawn Porter  -  IBF welterweight title

Zab Judah vs Paul Malignaggi  -  welterweight

Austin Trout vs Erislandy Lara  -  light middleweight

Sakio Bika vs Anthony Dirrell  -  super middleweight

And that's just the Brooklyn fights.  Tapia - Kirkland and Macklin are fighting on the Rigondeaux undercard and Barker's gone to Germany to fight Sturm. So 7 fights in total I want to see will take me a couple of days to get throught that lol.

Yes i saw the one sided punishment that Kirkland handed out, It should have been stopped a lot earlier imo....Tapia's ancestors would be able to feel them licks!!!

Recap: Broner vs. Maidana

All of Broners negative press grabbing escapades out of the ring finally caught up with him...Dubbed as the next Mayweather???

Guess again, not in the same league!

Heard a lot of different stories about supplements he allegedly took, his trainer slipping energizer into his mouth and the illegal use of smelling salts in the latter rounds...Questionable behaviour, but maidana did pass the USADA urine and blood test after the fight.

WBC Heavyweight title up for grabs now Vitali has relinquished it. The possibility of an eliminator bout for the title would be interesting.

A lot of fighters queuing up ready to go to war over this one...the top eight contenders are Wladimir, Pulev, Fury, Chisora, Stiverne, Povetkin, Wilder & Perez.

Exciting times ahead for the 2014 Heavyweight division, criticized over the pass few years for not providing the same caliber of fights

compared to lower weight divisions.

Hope that David Price can get his career back on track after changing trainers from Adam Booth to Tommy Brooks, who has trained impressive fighters the

likes of Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield and both Kiltschko's. Think that Brooks boxing style will suit the long armed Liverpudlian, fighting from distance

behind the jab, creating combinations from a quick leading jab i.e. jab, jab, cross...It's worked well enough for the Klitschko brothers all these years. IMO

that's exactly what Price needs, a robotic stance and a powerful/accurate jab. A lot of critics still think of Price as "No chin, no heart, no stamina."

Any thoughts on this change or comeback???

David Haye (26-2) back in training despite doctor's warnings lol...Now Vitali is 'champion emeritus' some would argue the WBC belt has maybe become a little easier to attain. Wouldn't be surprised if the Hay-maker manages to get a crack at the WBC title, but then pulls out at the last minute with a sore throat & runny nose, the lanky love slugs hair do mofo!!!

Still one of the best put downs ever when Chisora's promoter said (paraphrased) "Chisora came and shown us his heart, you (Haye) showed us your toe".
