Oldie saying Hi!

Hey, can see some familiar names here :)

Training & competing has taken a back seat over the last 3-4 years due to trying for children (and failing) and have been through 3 failed rounds of IVF. We've now decided to start the adoption process, which means I get control of my body back, can get back into training more consistently and stepping back on that stage next year.

I'll start a journal in January once I've got a bit more to say but just wanted to say hi :)

I vaguely remember you :)  Joke

Great to have you back and looking forward to your contributions. Harvey would be proud! Best of luck with the training. Keep us posted as we are a friendly bunch and occasionally have pearls of wisdom!

Hello stranger. Really sorry so hear your IVF endeavours have not been fruitful, but I am positive in equal measures that any child fortunate enough to be adopted by you and Desmo will be a very fortunate child indeed, wish you all the best for that.

My wife and I have considered fostering, alas she's not mentally in the best of places right now so that's something that will have to wait.

Looking forward to seeing you get your game face back on.

Hi Welshy.  Been through the cycle myself.  My heart goes out to you as I know the emotional rollercoaster that you were on.

I look forward to seeing your posts!

Croeso!

sorry to hear about the IVF struggle, but as DV said, there is some lucky kid out there waiting for you.

Would be interested to hear about the adoption process, if that's something you choose to talk about in your journal - though obviously understand if you prefer not to.

Hello :) welcome back to the forum

Sorry to hear about your ivf  struggles :-( wishing you the best of luck with the adoption process

Thanks so much for the lovely messages, really kind.

DV! Long time no speak indeed!

We actually had an adoption workshop today, was really interesting and also very overwhelming. My god the paperwork. I will def post about the process as much as I can, although they do advise not to go into too much detail on t'internet for security reasons. Going to try and get through the process AND prep ... that should be fun!

I don't get too much time to post as I commute from Essex into London for my work but will certainly try to get involved here as much as poss

We were surprised at the process for fostering, it is quite extensive and takes months to be OK'ed. I s'pose they can't make it easy but you do have to jump thru a lot of hoops

You can understand why they have to do it but the amount of detail we have to go into... it's insane. As well as having an ' outreach worker ' come and do a H&S check at our house :/

It's amazing that kids ever get placed with inappropriate families, yet you hear about it all the time. But some of it does seem OTT... but like you say, if they make it easy then they'll get lawsuits left, right and centre

Has it been 4 years since I used to post on these forums? Guess it has been.. 4 years since I used steroids as well lol... funny that!
