I remembered that you are an untouchable novice or any category apart from opens strength athlete though so knew u had won

They only had to check log

Unbeaten and unbeatable in my competing days mate, you know that

There was one guy who was much bigger than me and, when I saw him, I thought he was going to smash the field. I had never competed before so didn't know anything either, I had only done events once as well. Once you have done a comp or two, you know who to look out for and who is decent of course.

Anyway he was shite and finished right down the field

I used to remember Ken’s write ups regarding his aggressive all or nothing approach to his kids sports day events. Was it the egg and spoon where he got injured pulled a hamstring or something @huntingground ?

Sprint, I smashed the field until 70m when I pulled a hammy and limped over line in second. On the start line they must have been thinking I had no chance. Anyhow, that was 3 weeks out from British Qualifiers at Salisbury and I thought I was fooked. I still qualified with a horrible 265SQ.

Or was that actually Herts strongest man that Ben also entered?

I did think he’d won it as I said earlier, I recognised the bright green t-shirt from an old video

It was Watfords Strongest Man for Opens and Herts Strongest Man for Novices IIRC. No idea why. I see the guy who arranged it in Nortons occasionally, I'll ask him.

I don't have the trophy any more either, my boy destroyed it when he was little.

I have loads of vids and pics though.

I had trained SM once and had been training for 3 years at the time so was surprised to win it. I was one of the biggest in the Novices but there were people who had done lots of comps.

Ben was a natty midget then.

I think Rob did the 2015 comp. No idea where he come. I went up to see him for a while and Ewen Weatherburn was in the Inters.

I did 2016. I weighed about 88kg and placed 5th out of 16 or 17 opens guys
@Nov pipped me to 4th.

Novices. I think Ewen was meant to be in the inters but no-showed. Can't remember who won that. One boy spat the dummy, gave Paul a mouthful about screwing him with shit reffing and stormed off
