Knee Joint Pain

I'm 1 week into test prop cycle 300mg per week. Taking 0.5 half tab of adex 1x every 3rd day.

I'm getting left knee joint pain. I had knee joint pain before I started this cycle.

Have done 2 cycles before my 3rd. Just woundered if steroid abuse can cause knee joint pain.

I'm thinking it could just be ware and tare on my knees. Have been weight training for 20 years now I'm 40years old.

Mate I’m in my 40’s too and have fucked knees, fucked elbows, fucked shoulders, almost chronic tendinitis and a sports hernia I will need to get fixed at some point.

Bit of joint pain comes with the territory and especially as you get older.

Could be anything? Exercise choice, not warming up properly, poor technique, ill suited movement.

Do you need the adex on 300mg/wk?
Knee sleeves?

Was gonna say that sounds high amount of adex. Low estrogen can cause joint pain, if you’ve only started noticing it since starting the cycle it could be that.

He says it started before cycle/adex use guys @Greedy Ben.
I suspect it'll be what others have said, age and as Ben said poor technique/exercise choice. E.g. Leg extensions ruin my knees nowadays. Never used to. Just have to go light on them.

lol I had to read it twice and I still missed it, brb just starting thread asking if steroid use turns a brain into a cabbage

Exact same happened to me. Used to stack the machine through ego and it fucked my knees more than any squat ever did.

I do feel I get a lot out of them though now tho. Still train to failure, just a load of sets, very short rest periods, rest pause, higher rep sets etc. Single leg ones I find are a good exercise too.

Yeah think it's just ware and tare on knee joint. I might jack in weight training after this cycle. See what my Dr says about knee. I won't mention roids tho.

Dr will just say 'stop lifting heavy weights' - standard NHS reply.

Either go and see a specialist for diagnosis or rest it completely then start back with just squats and focus on form, get some decent neoprene sleeves and make sure you warm up properly, stretch after etc. Just avoid anything that aggravates the problem.

Think years of leg extension, squats, leg press has ground down joint.

Everyone has to adapt the way they train over time mate - just work around the injury. Drop the exercises that most aggravate the issue, increase reps decrease load, etc...

I haven’t been able to squat properly for years now and can’t do any direct biceps work at the moment.

Go see a sports physio/massage person. I had knee pain through my teens (told it was growing pains) had pain through my 20s (told it was osgoodsclaters diese,
I've not spelt that right at all) in my 30s I went to sports physio and was told I have very tight IT bands which pull my knee cap to one side.

Given some stretches/exercises and boom alot of the pain gone.

I still have sore knees due to work (floor fitter) and the gym/old age, 42, but it's manageable now.

Only cost £30-40 so no drama.

This is definitely worth a try before binning it all off.
I’m 42 now and presumed the knee issues were just down to wear. Started getting more religious with my foam rolling and stretching especially in the hips and IT band and it’s a lot better now. Elbow issues are quite often caused by tightness in the brachialis so I started to work that area to and it’s mostly gone now.
As above get sleeves. I put them on before I head out to the gym to get everything warmed up.

Take up cycling for lower body. sounds daft but it helped me after an operation. would just do that & leg press.

Stop doing leg extensions for a start

Shearing force on the knee joint is very high with that movement

I don’t ever do them
