Brought myself some gymnastic rings, along with a 6' outdoor pull up bar, plus I'll add a climbing rope to this :)

Rings are great. Can't wait till they arrive.

Anyone use them?

Clip of Daniel doing some ring work.

Nope, I see the crossfit lot trying to dislocate their shoulders on them down the gym though fairly regularly.

I wouldn't want to try them without proper instruction, or without a crashmat underneath them either. :)

I occasionally use my TRX which is similar. The best exercises I've found are push ups, dips inverted rows and inverted face pulls.

I have a set of rings I use on occasion. I think they're good though. Once you try a set of dips on them you'll have a new respect for the gymnasts that use them. It's very difficult to keep stable on them.

I'm a fan of trying the odd handstand and handstand pushups, and think the rings are very good for learning a bit of coordination and balance when hanging upside down.

Def think building in routine on rings is pretty sic but i am a fanboy for anything semi calisthenics related and theres obv similiartities here I guess... how much did they set you back? any suggestions for a cheap ass version for the broke??

Yep, the core comes in to keep rings stable. Am also a fan of handstands and HSPU..doing them on the rings would make me nervous. lol

Got a link to the outdoor pullup bar? Got rings myself but nowhere to use em , tried on a door pull up bar but no space to move.

Is it the green one you cement in ?

Got mine from these people http://www.xorbars.co.uk/

Fixes to two posts..makes sure you allow enough height for ring work.

I will be building a wooden step to get up on mine. lol as it will be around 2.4 m high. Posts will be 3.6 m and 5'' thick. 4'' ones might be okay but I want mine sturdy as hell so going for thicker ones.

I was looking at this not long back. Would love one in my garden.

Yeah same place i was looking at , i want the bog standard pull up bar, should be easy to put up eh?

Looks reasonable value. Obviously not much in the way of material costs but saves building one yourself.

Yeah piece of piss as I used to be a hard landscaper LOL!

Always fancied having a go on rings but I bet it's an awful lot harder than it looks and would require some serious practice!

Yep, you need to stabilize rings by using your core so lots of muscles get worked..
