Interesting. What's wrong with a pull down?
It's not necessarily wrong, but there are much better movements
Most people grab a pull down bar with an overhand grip as wide as possible thinking its gonna give them wide lats
But your body doesn't move like that
Its an unnatural movement compared to a nutaral grip, shoulder width high pull

I've noticed similar recently from going as wide and out as possible to bringing the elbows in abit and grip to abit wider than shoulder and focusing on pulling up to the bar rather than pulling the bar down if that makes any sense and lats have really felt the difference

MAG grips are good also as they remove the overhand grip which takes the forearms out of the movement and puts more emphasis on the lats
 
Haven't got any before pics but just imagine a skinny little Italian man.
This was taken and the end of my last blast. Done 7 weeks on trt and now two weeks into the next blast now. Im no bigger though, probably holding a little more fat now tbh but I'm working on it.
