Creatine Benefits

Do you guys use it? What are the main benefits?

Should you take it after/before each workout and how much would you put in your shake?

Just curious really if a lot of people still take it.

Been a long time since I read about any supp that's not a steroid but..

It's one of the only supplements proven to be effective aint it

Personally dont think it makes any real world difference when it's taken

Dont think theres any point 'loading'

I'd just take 5g of monohydrate per day whenever suits, usually pre workout or post workout if I do take it

Iirc (it's been a long time) it helps with ATP stores and as a result can give the muscles more energy, better endurance etc

Can hold a bit of water with it too which depending on your endeavor can be good or bad

I'm sure someone a lot more sciencey will come in and piss over this but, it's cheap, it's easy to take and last I checked its proven to work to some degree so why not.

basically everything he said. Cheap as fuck too. Pretty sure there’s more recent research being done in to possible neurological benefits too.

Yes I was reading a post about lots of neurological benefits. It seems to be one of the more tested supplements too so relatively safe.

Pretty much
Creatine phosphate is stored as energy in the muscle and can quickly be converted into ATP for muscle contraction, it's used in about the first 10 seconds of the explosive action
Its replenished in a few minutes if the muscles arent continuously used
This is why you see powerlifters do their lift then sit down for 5 minutes before they lift again
I always thought they were just being lazy bastards
I'm assuming, supplementing with creatine means more energy in the muscle so better muscle contraction

I've normally got some on the go but feel it does nothing really so forget to take it or it goes solid and gets thrown out.

I use it because it's so cheap and actually got some science to justify its use, if it was expensive I prob wouldn't bother
Do I notice anything from it?
Will never know with so much other stuff in the mix
But if each little supp adds a few % to what you're trying to achieve then it's worth it if you do things right and stay consistent

it's not something that you actually feel though is it, but the most researched sup there is and conclusively works.
cheap as chips, don't bother loading, 3 -5g a day no appreciable benefits in taking anymore.
I just used to add to my during training water.
Buy monohydrate, no benefit to take any of the other types in terms of action but some may not upset your stomach if mono does.
I imagine its particularly useful to take if you dont eat red meat.

Ive just started taking it, hoping it will improve hydration in muscle cell and maybe a tad of joint lube.

Great stuff for endurance athletes and sprint too.
Used it plenty as a competitive swimmer.
Try to get micronised if you can a little quicker and easier to absorb.

All very useful, so about 3-5g a serving with workouts is what you guys seem to recommend then.

Cheers.

I'll probably order some TBH, as I was using gear I always thought fook it but it will probably help me in my current state.

this I use it for mental clarity above all else, I worked for a well know brand back in the day and tried their creatine and Glutamine drink and got a lot of clear head I put it down at first to the Glutamine but it was the creatine, the ATP increase helps the brain as much if not more than the muscles
