Morgan Aste

i'm adding an element of BS into the diet but looking at his show pics, ramy shouldnt be too bothered.

he is a strongman/ bodybuilder though...

Lol could he have found a smaller person and a more flattering angle for that pic?

Still a rather huge chap :D

Done a bit of reading on him. As IB says his background is strongman. He started off as a bodybuilder when he was 20, turned to strongman in his mid-20s, back to bodybuilding now.

Apparently he still holds a few records in France and is 'arguably' (according to the article I read) still the strongest man in France.

Going off his competition pics I think he'll struggle to turn pro but the way he's filled out a 6'3 frame is impressive!

This year it was around 4500. At 106kg bodyweight.
At my heaviest (128kg) I was on around 6500-7000 a day.
Sound like I need to get back to closer to that figure :D

So is 4500 cals what you started off eating, right up to 106kg bodyweight? Or did you start lower and work up to it and 4500 is what you topped off at?

I know some people believe you should 'eat for the weight you're aiming for' and I'm curious to see if this is the way you did it

I saw a Youtube clip of him benching 200kg for about 15 reps, so no doubts he's one big strong fecker!!

Yes. I've "reverse dieted" out of comp preps for the last few years.
So, (using a current example). I'm on 2600kcals today.
386g Protein
191g carbs
34g Fat

Assuming worst case scenario, and I don't qualify for the finals, then
From Monday (the day after show day), I'll change to 350g Protein, 300g carbs 70g fats.
I'll assess how i'm filling/smoothing out and then increase carbs by approx 50g.

The 4500 I quoted was what I topped out at.

Yeah like IB says, doesn't look half as impressive on stage. Unless the stage pics I've seen are old? I know the last pic of him I posted is pretty recent.

Still looks absolutely ridiculous next to a normal bloke though

Was that pic taken in Germany?

Guys... When they show Morgan's diet and it says 450 g of meat or fish they don't mean 450 actual grams of protein. They're talking about weight. FYI 453 grams of weight equals 1lb. It's still a lot of food to take in one sitting but they're talking about one pound of meat or fish. Also spreading seven meals out with two and a half hours in between means you're going to be up about 18 hours a day. This is a business that's won in the kitchen not in the gym.
