The more of a calorie deficit I'm in the more my body wants to sleep, which makes sense from an energy homeostasis point of view, but in regards to actual leanness I've never noted an effect there.
My bodyfat ranges from an approximate 13-14% at my smoothest to 9-10% at my leanest, and when maintaining at either my sleep is about the same - only when cutting that I sleep more.
Conversely when eating more and trying to gain (or just being in stuff my face mode for a while) my sleep is terrible.
