What exercises do you do for your hamstrings?

I squat and deadlift and also do lying hamstring curls on leg day.

Would that be enough? Never feel like ive worked them hard enough,I can always feel my quads aching but never my hamstrings (even though I know you should never judge your training on doms)

SLDL are out as they would aggrevate my lower back, and I dont want to go there again.

Think ive answered my own questions just by typing this LOL (ill post anyway)

ive had big problems with my lower back over the years and certain excercises were out for me, but i recently tried sldl and found i had no problems at all and it is an excellent excersise.

also after doing walking dumbell lunges my hamies are aching.

Thanks jef.

I might give sldl a try then, ill just start with a light weight and see how it feels.

Im always scared when it comes to my back though.Last time I really hurt it I couldn`t train properly for about 4/5 months.

I`ll see

thats what i did, sarted with small weights and get form right, very easy to up the weight too soon and put too much emphasis on lower back.

i also keep my knees slightly bent helps keep the strain off my back and rep slow to feel the hamstring working, really need to concentrate on mind-muscle connection with this movement.

give it a try, but remember some excersises just arent meant to be so if injuries keep coming its not worth it, im like this with deadlifting.

good luck

Deadlifts and squat is all I do.. and I do feel it in my hams. Deadlifts really work my hamstrings. I think it's important to feel the next day.

Thanks for the replys lads.

Think im gona try SLDL for a bit,see how that goes

SLDL i always feel more in my lower back then hamstrings.

I actually think leg curls are an under-rated exercise.

you could hack squat.. thats meant to hit hams & glutes more.

or squatting with your toes turned outwards..

personally, i love SLDL so id say go with them - just dont be too tempted to ram the weight up too quickly and turn it into a bad back exercise.
