Amount Of Food Required To Grow

Are you on any orals or anything that's dulling the appetite?

Would have thought just to maintain 20st you'd need a shitload everyday.

No orals. I’m pretty sedentary apart from gym work and the odd bit of cardio though. I’ve also got one of those metabolisms where if I look at pizza I put 4 lbs on

And I’ve got full blown gut rot.

Out of interest who do you all reckon to have the shitty end of the stick?

The ones who don't need much food to grow or the ones that need to stuff themselves pretty much all day?

I need to push 7000-8000 everyday to get above where I am now

I’d prefer if I could get away with 5000-6000 tbh

So middle of the road is perfect

But fuck gaining on 3200. I eat more than that by accident sometimes

Gaining on lower is obviously a winner. Don’t need to eat fucking hunners and won’t cost as much either. Even though this is TM and we’re all on half a mill salaries atleast.

Part of me would like to be able to eat 5000 cals and not just get fat but it sounds like a chore.

On the flip side. I’d love to not have to starve myself to cut...

Well today I’ve had

Sausage sarnie
Blueberry strawb yogurt shake
Bean wrap
Lentils veg
Bagels protein shake
Crisps and hummus
Fake bacon sarnie
Waffles and mince

Lol if I eat this every day I’m gonna gain for sure

There is no specific answer to your question as everybody has different requirements
Even an individual's requirements may change due to a change in lifestyle
If you're struggling to grow on you're current diet and find it difficult to eat more then you have 2 options imo
Reduce your calorie expenditure, so if you're doing cardio then stop it, try training less frequently and keep your cals high on rest days
Or, try swapping your current foods for more calorie dense stuff. So the actual volume/weight of food is the same but you'll be getting in more cals. More eggs, steak, bagels chicken thighs etc
Dont be afraid of fats
I reached a point where stopped gaining and adding more carbs just made me bloated and sluggish. Adding in fats like avocado, nuts and cooking in coconut oil worked a treat

I love eating though I'm a fat kid at heart. Fuck 8k @GhostOf2Can though that would just be a chore. Even on all junk I might hit that for a day or two and then go on hunger strike for the next week

Swings and roundabouts innit mate. I’ve been stagnant for some time now (similar size for most part) because I haven’t been eating enough day in day out but I can drop weight fairly fast for the same reason

Like I say middle of the road is probably best isn’t it metabolism wise

I haven’t done it for a while mate, I eat 5000-6000 a day which means I’ve just stayed the same for most part

I need to do what I used to do and just say fuck it and ram the food in anything goes as long as I get enough protein when I was trying to gain new weight/size and say fuck the bloat and fuck looking shitter for the greater good (new muscle), because as soon as you clean it up the water comes off and your really never much fatter

Switched up my routine 3 weeks again now I’m trying to sort myself out and get serious again and decided to do some westside style training for a change so was researching it and came across this about how some of the old westside lifters used to change weight class quickly

Made me realise the reason I’ve been plateaud the last couple of years (bar injury but that’s a cop out) is not doing whatever it takes eating wise

Extreme measures obviously but interesting nonetheless. This is how I used to eat at 26-28 and it works, I need to do this after my holiday

3200 clean is a struggle for me tbh.

Most bodybuilder types will train for an hour then sit on their arse all day and night though won’t they. It’s easy if that’s all your doing

I’ll get up and go for a run then train a couple of hours after then usually train in the evening as well,

If I’m working days I’ll train before and after work. Just don’t have the time to eat anymore to be fair. I’ve started having bigger meals but it’s not enough really. Not chasing size anymore though so it doesn’t bother me too much.

If I wanted to do it I’d just have a load of ice cream mixed with some whey before bed or a whey shake and a couple of bagels, it’s not rocket science is it.

That’s it for me. I work 7-6 most days (sitting on my arse) might get some cardio in on a morning but add all the adulting in on top and im fucked if I have time to train twice a day.
